I hope Webb collapses. You maybe worried about the Cubs, but the only thing I'm really looking at with baseball this year are the starts by Tim Lincicum. The Giants suck, the A's suck, but Lincicum is still in the Cy Young race.

Timmy is the main reason, I got the mlb.tv package. White Pedro is gonna be a problem if he gets a real team around him.
Despite being a Brandon Webb fan and a Diamondbacks fan, I have to agree that Tim Lincecum probably deserves the Cy Young more than Webb, however for some reason the "Wins" stat is more important to the sports writers who vote on it than Ks or ERA or WHIP. Therefore, I predict that Webb will steal the Cy Young from Lincecum this year for the same reason that Roger Clemens stole the Cy Young from Randy Johnson in 2004.

I daresay that Brett Myers threw a wrench into that plan. He had an excellent game tonight.

Anytime I take an optimistic standpoint and start to hope that they'll go all the way, they fuck up.
When I take a pessimistic standpoint and say they WILL fuck up, they do well.
Therefore, I say they will fail spectacularly. Go Cubs!

Nah, its fine. Every other contender that effects the Sox postseason status lost, so I consider it null. Wakefield just had one of those nights that he has once and a while, where he is all over the place and can't throw strikes. It happens with a knuckleballer. Hopefully Byrd pitches well tomorrow, against a very good hitting team.
Unless you're stupid enough to bring in Eric Gagne in relief.
If only he was this good before the all-star break because he's on my fantasy team.
Webb again loses opening the door for Lincecum. I think Tim starts tomorrow but I really haven't had a chance to follow much of the Giants lately. Hopefully his next start is a great one.
I'm quite surprised (and disappointed) by Webb's last three starts, but even before that I thought Tim Lincecum was the better candidate for the Cy Young award. But as Chaos Descending, pointed out, he may get robbed because he doesn't have more wins.

Edit: In Johan`s last 3 home starts he is 3-0 with a 1.25 ERA. I could smell a Cy Young for Johan if he comes up big for the Mets this month after last year`s collapse. Gotta run Brett`s bout to throw his first pass in Dolphins stadium

Well, at this point Webb is looking less and less like a contender. It's hard to justify giving the Cy Young to a 3.50 ERA guy when a 2.60 ERA guy is pitching the same number of innings, in my humble opinion.
Unless Webb shuts out his opponents for all of his remaining starts, I doubt he'll be in the running anymore, and rightly so.
Okay Deadpool maybe you can explain this. Watching the Mets/ Phils game today, Charlie Manuel makes a pitching change in the ninth, and I hear in the background some music coming over the stadium PA. And I recongnize it as the Dropkick Murphy's "Im Shipping Off to Boston"...why in the hell is it being played in a Mets game? That is the Red Sox song...it's Papelbon's entering song...hell its called Im Shipping Up to Boston...it's our fucking song...stop stealing it.
I swear, I was at a freaking Flyers hockey game a while ago, and during a rally they were having, against the BOSTON Bruins, they play that song as their rally song, and I was sitting there like WTF.

Maybe for the Flyers game they were shipping the Bruins back to Boston in a box? I don't know. It's a kickass song either way (I'm sure they only play it because it was in the Departed).
