"Death Wish" Does Janeway ever tick you off!!!

Q is not the type to help people since it's more likely for him make things worse just for the heck of it.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with Janeway's decision in Death Wish, can we all agree that shes an idiot for not asking Q for a ride home after they saved the freaking Continuum in the very next season? Or after they babysay little Q in the final season? Is there any reason whatsoever why Janeway wouldnt have at least asked after either of these incidents?

No ... she made it abundantly clear even during the Q civil war that she's not looking for a quick fix.
As for the final season babysitting episode of Q's son ... she did say the following:
'Not that I don't appreciate it, but this will take off only a few years of our trip. Why not send us all the way?'
To which Q replied with: 'What sort of an example would I be setting for my son if I did all the work for you?'

So the first 2 times when Janeway dealt with Q, she flat out refused due to personal integrity ... and in the final season ... well, a lot has happened over the span of 5 years from when Q civil war ended, and they WERE much closer to Earth so she probably wanted to get it over with.
But Q with all his abilities might have known what's going to happen and as such he wanted for those events to occur because Voyager had too big of an impact on the quadrant by that time.

Given the nature of the Continuum, it's likely that Q knew what Janeway would eventually do to the Borg. In fact, he most likely caused it to happen by giving them their little boost.

To me that sounds like stuff the writers threw in just so they could say that she tried. Why would Janeway babysit a Q in excahnge for basically nothing? And i dont recall the line in the Q civil war episode you are mentioning but it strikes me that keeping your crew marooned in hostile space out of "personal integrity" is pretty lame and would rightly inspire a mutiny. Note that this situation is different to the Caretaker scenario where Janeway is actually protecting someone. Its like someone being stranded in the Sahara and refusing a drink of water. I know that if Voyager returns home, theres no show but then they need to limit the Q appearances because a captain who has her head screwed on straight would try and get him to return them home.

So you're saying that Janeway's crew had the right to mutiny because she refused to bear Q a child?

What happened to the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one? She should have gotten down on her hands and knees and begged Q to take them home. Picard basically did in "Q Who". The welfare of your crew should come first.

Im saying that Janeway was instrmental in saving the Continuum and might be the beneficiary of a favor. Someone here was saying that Janeway refused such an offer, saying she wanted to do it on her own and my 2nd post was responding to that is being basically bull. If Janeway had received an offer after saving the Continuum and did not accept, I would have mutinied.

I believe the offer they were referring to was the one made during Death Wish for Janeway to turn over Quinn to the Q (after already granting him asylum) in exchange for a trip home.

No such offer was made at the end of "Q and the Gray" although Q did imply if she bore his child she would then have the power to send the crew home herself.

Yeah i didnt recall anything either but now i have to ask why after they basically saved the Continuum didnt Janeway at least TRY and get a ride home?

I'm guessing the writers didn't want to go there since they would have to think of a reason for the Q to say "no" to keep the show from ending early. ;)

And how stupid do they think we are? We know darn well that in the middle of an earlier season that they aren't going home, yet they show all these "almost" opportunities to get home quicker. We knew going into those episodes it wasn't gonna happen. Still fun to watch though. I'm on season 6, almost there!!
