Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

This is how I imagine some characters.

DS9:
Jesse L. Martin seems to be the most popular choice for Sam Bowers.
Taran'atar: Christopher Judge

New Frontier:
Shawn Christian looks perfect for the role of Calhoun, and he's a good actor.
Rosalinda Celentano certainly has the face for Burgoyne 172.
Soleta: Jennifer Morrison
Si Cwan: Arnold Vosloo

Titan:
Christine Vale: Katee Sackhoff
Xin Ra-Havreii: Jeffrey Combs

Honestly, I'm sticking with Michael Boatman as Bowers, especially since I got to meet him tonight. :)

Among whom? I don't think I've ever heard that before. The suggestions I recall are Michael Boatman and Ving Rhames.

Among the first several pages of the thread. I really didn't feel like reading 50+ pages, so after reading a few pages, I just posted my ideas. However, I may change my mental image of Bowers to that of Michael Boatman.

FWIW, Martin is Marco's current choice.

You're misremembering the conversation we had a few weeks ago. I've imagined a number of actors in the role of Bowers over the years, including Jesse L. Martin. But my current choice--and by current I mean that I haven't changed my mind about it since April 2006, when I first posted in this thread--is Roger R. Cross.

My choice for Ra-Havreii is James Callis (Galactica's Gaius Baltar).

Nice but I think Callis is one of those actors who can play one character brilliantly, and not really branch out. So we would have Gaius in engineering.

Have you seen Callis in roles other than Baltar? I've seen him in one other role, as a prince in the Halmis' Arabian Nights miniseries, and he wasn't very Baltar-like there. Anyway, Ra-Havreii has qualities in common with Gaius Baltar, particularly his arrogance and his womanizing, so I think it's a good fit. And I had Callis in mind when I wrote Ra-Havreii in Over a Torrent Sea, so there will definitely be a resemblance in that book at least.

As an alternative, I'd suggest Alexis Denisof.

Yeah, I'm with Marco on this one: Roger R. Cross looks like he's far more capable of kicking some ass and taking some names than Michael Boatman. And damn, man, he was just frickin' cool on 24.... :)

Yeah, Cross would be a great Bowers. I even used him as Bowers for my DS9R cast list I made a couple months ago, although I'll admit I did get that from checking out this thread.

As for Jesse L. Martin, I've actually pictured him as Jaza myself.

Ok, I'll have to remember that when I put my Titan cast list together. I haven't actually seen him in anything yet though, so I'm probably gonna stick with Martin at least until that changes.

Now that would make an interesting Photomanip!

I'd be fascinated to see our Giaus as a Efrosian, I just can't seem to visualize him with a Fu Manchu moustache, although An albino Nicholas Cage... hmnn

Despite the proclivities of Trek hairstylists, there's no reason to assume that every member of an entire species would wear their hair in exactly the same way.
