Queston about Away Teams + Data

The main reason Data went on all the away missions is simple: if he didn't go, all those terrible episodes out there would be even more terrible because we'd have no funny Data moments. Take "The Royale" for example. Sure it was an unsatisfying episode, but you had to laugh when Data was wearing that cowboy hat, or the famous "Baby needs a new pair of shoes" routine at the end. Those were like the chocolate chips on a stale cookie. Take those away and what do you have? A dog biscuit. :p
personal opinion. I really dislike the character of Data. I will gagree those episodes sucked.

How sad for you, my friend! Data is one of my favorite characters, as the juxtaposition of his "book" learning with his lack of understanding of idioms and the human condition, always intrigued me. Two Data eps are among the best: The Measure Of A Man and The Most Toys. -- RR

I just didn't like him constantly being used as a comic relief, I enjoy his more serious episdes about Humanity, Death, and When he has to command that one ship when his XO dislikes taking otders from an android.

Personally, I thought his naivety to the human condition made his more serious roles that more convincing and moving. I cherished every Data moment; the good, the bad, and the hilarious. :techman:
