I never understood what the issue was withing referring to someone as mentally retarded. If they are excessively slow, or mentally challenged or whatever, they ARE mentally retarded. All 'retarded' means, after all, is 'slow'.And that is what these people are. It's not 'derogatory' - it's what they ARE. And calling it something else is not gonna add 50 IQ points to anyone's intelligence.
