Just seen a report for ITV's new autumn lineup. Apparently, they're kicking off with a whole new variety show that's never been done before, which will have two different hosts each week and bla bla bla... If by never been done before they mean "Friday Night Project", then yes.
No mention of any new talent shows for this month, though reality TV is still going strong with I'm A Celebrity. It looks like their half-hearted attempts at sci-fi/thrillers have gone awry, so instead there's a whole batch of new music-based dramas:
And also "Caught In A Trap" about a woman who is obsessed with Elvis, and a re-imagining of "Pride and Prejudice" (this I know for a fact hasn't been done before 45 times).
I'm assuming the near constant repeats of Midsomer Murders, Morse, A Touch Of Frost and the plethora of spinoffs are still on the schedule. And just in case you actually want to watch them, they've got a bucketload of football, so the programmes listed above can be bounced around the schedule to make way.
I'm assuming a late night, more adult version of Primeval with more dinosaurs (Evil Pram) is on the way. Along with a load of spinoffs of Lewis, Taggart, Cracker and The Bill: Community Support Officers and The Bill: ASBO.
Is it just me who's getting a tad weary of ITV's complete lack of imagination? Four channels of what is essentially re-runs, crime dramas and re-runs of crime dramas. I'm not saying BBC always get it right, but at least they have a go.
Coup d'etat anyone?

Britannia High, a musical drama set in a UK performing arts school... The cast play a group of six close-knit students and the series will climax in a 90-minute finale which takes the form of an end-of-term students' showcase.
And also "Caught In A Trap" about a woman who is obsessed with Elvis, and a re-imagining of "Pride and Prejudice" (this I know for a fact hasn't been done before 45 times).
