Destiny extract in Star Trek Magazine

Just to let everyone know that there's a longer than normal extract from the first volume of Star Trek Destiny in issue 13 of Star Trek Magazine, out in the next couple of weeks in the US, and early September in the UK. Dave Mack's also provided an introduction explaining how Destiny differs from some of the previous crossover events - and for USS Titan fans, there are two all-new images of the ship, commissioned and especially created for the extract (because I could!) The issue is an original series special, with contributions from TrekLit's Jill Sherwin, Mike Martin, KRAD, Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore, Terri Osborne and Dave Mack on Vanguard, as well as a new interview with Star Trek Logs writer Alan Dean Foster, and behind the scenes info on the new Star Trek 101 book.

There's also going to be an extract from Destiny book three in issue 14, which makes fascinating reading!

I will find myself (in)explicably drawn to a branch of WH Smith soon then.

Disclaimer: There are other stockists of Star Trek Magazine I'm sure (although I've yet to find one admittedly).

I guess I need to start picking up those issues again. Been slacking in that department for Star Trek or anything else I'm interested in lately.

^ The book 3 extract won't appear until October, by which time, if you've got book one, it won't be too much of a spoiler.

Holy crap. I am getting this. Much props on the two new images of the ship!!!!:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Of course, the Fry's up the street has to decide to suddeny stop carrying the Star Trek magazine now. I guess I'll have to try to get myself a ride to Borders some time soon.

As an added bonus, you get to see me actually defend TOS's third season! :)

Might be an interesting article. I just took at quick glance at the third season titles. A less than handful of good episodes, more than a handful of drek, a handful of so so.

But what stands out for me is the number of episodes where elements were used as a jumping off point for later episodes or books.

How much canon and book continuity were spawned from The Savage Curtain for example? Surak AND Khalis? Not to mention some trivial mentions of Colonel Green.

Where does one get this magazine? There's a huge magazine stand near me that doesn't have it, and I don't really know where to check. Would the chains like Borders carry it?

^ Yeah, the larger chain bookstores usually carry it on their magazine rack in the "Entertainment" section.

I know that my Borders Express usually gets it, but only two copies.
