People have sex at 13, this isn't anything new and has been happening for the whole history of mankind, and sometimes even much younger. People need to really grow up.

So what are you saying, that because 13 year olds have had sex throughout history we should imbrace it? People have killed one another for the whole history of mankind as well, maybe we should just accept it and let them? Just because it has been done for a long time doesnt mean it is the right thing to do.

Yes, but pretending it doesn't happen, or won't happen if we don't want it to, is no way way to help anything. By that reasoning, having police is "embracing" crime.

No, we shouldn't embrace it we should edjucate and raise our children to "save themselves" for marriage or atleast until adulthood. But people in this country are so skittish about all things sex they never talk about it with their kids. So what do kids do? They find out about it on their own.

My parents told me all about sex and a young age. Not any great details, but all the "it's special between two people" and what it is for (procreation.) I didn't have sex until I was 21.

But at the same time, kids are going to be kids. Some of them are going to do things whether their parents are going to like it or not. You cannot stop that. So one of the other things we can do is try and convince them that if they're going to have sex they might as well do it in a safer way.

We can't stick out fingers in our ears, close our eyes and sing "La la la la la" and not try and teach kids and advertise to them safe sex and then expect them to just not do it anymore. That kind of thinking is insane and is, IMO, what's causing the problem in the first place.
