Someone above mentioned Rusty Venture...I think that Dr. Jonas Venture, Sr. is/was a MUCH bigger asshole than Rusty. Especially as the third season of VB progresses...

So abiding by the original terms of the thread, I will restate:
- Defense attorneys on L&O (any version). Particularly Lionel Granger, Roger Kressler, and anybody played by Dennis Boutsikaris
- Any of the VexCor people from Charlie Jade, particularly Julius Galt and Essa Rompkin (if nothing else, you gotta love those names!), plus that creepy guy who is Galt's right-hand man. Note: 01 Boxer doesn't count, since he's 1) apparently not pure VexCor, and 2) Just annoying as hell
- Trek characters: Luther Sloan, Khan Singh, Edward Jellico
- Drunks from Disorderly Conduct (some of them are hilarious)

Anders may be a Cylon. But when the nicest character on the show turns out to be a Cylon, I really start to wonder whether humanity deserves to survive at all.
I haven't seen any of Season 4 yet, so that may be tainting my impressions of Tyrol.

I agree with everyone else who mentioned damn near every defense attorney ever on Law & Order. The only ones that aren't assholes are the ones that don't get any character development at all.
Grandfather Happosai from Ranma 1/2. He was once mentioned in the "most evil human characters" thread. As someone else there said, he may not have killed anyone, but there's no doubt that your day will end up worse for having run into him.
Well, when the heat of battle is on, they're certainly more cowards than assholes. However, when they're in their element, explaining science stuff, they often become very verbally abusive, making no secret of their contempt of everyone else's intelligence. McKay qualifies if only because of how badly he treats Zelenka.
I was mostly going off of what I've seen in the first two seasons at that point.
