most annoying tv character in history

How about that bozo Richard Kind played on SG:A?

Who? I'm sorry, but Atlantis' third season only had 18 episodes and Koyla is still alive. :p

Keep watching, you're in for a "treat."

I hate Charlotte from Lost. Truly punchable face and all.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who loathes her.

My other nomination would be Peter Petrelli from Heroes. He's all powerful but my god he's such an idiot. Use your powers to make ensure the guy you've just met and who has a really evil smile and dubious motives, don't just do whatever he says!!!

Another good example of an annoying character of the "good" type - it's fun watching him be a dolt and get smacked around for it. :p

Lt. Horatio Crane, CSI: Miami - GOD. Whenever I see this guy, I want to crawl into the TV and punch him. The guy has one facial expression, speaks monotone and the way he "dramatically" takes off his sunglasses makes me want to smack him.

I've heard this so often that someday I just have to watch CSI: Miami to see what all the complaining is about.

Gaius Baltar, definitely. The biggest, whimpering pathetic coward ever to darken my TV screen. Yeah, I realize he has a purpose. He's still annoying as all get-out when he shows up.

He was good till the changes in S4. Now he's annoying.

But Christopher Eccleston was wonderful... and FANTASTIC! :bolian: He made an excellent Doctor, and if you've ever had the chance to see him in the first Elizabeth movie (he played Norfolk)...:drool::drool:

I'm not suggesting Ecclestone is not a great actor, he's one of our best, it's just a shame his character in Doctor Who as written was so annoying.

Annoying enough to send me packing permanently after three episodes - tho that screetchy blonde girl did her fair share, too - but Ecclestone was also annoying in Heroes, so I'm not convinced it's just the writing at fault.

Kim Bauer.

It took this long for someone to mention her?

Time for someone nobody has mentioned...I'll have to dredge up an obscure, terrible sf show called Starhunter for this...the guy who played the android-ish character...unbelievably annoying and unwatchable.

Well, that's a partial agreement anyway which is more than I've ever had before! :techman: :D

I've seen Ecclestone in a lot of British shows, he really is good given something to work with that doesn't involve shouting "fantastic!" and babbling on about the macguffin of the week.

I found him pretty unbearable in season three as well, first when he was on the Cylon ship and then when he was in the Galactica brig. But this religious demigod thing? No, no, no--a thousand times no.

Kim Bauer.

I am ashamed I left her off my list. I didn't have a big problem with her in season one, but once she started being a brat to Jack, I just couldn't stomach her.

I think she was mentioned in the first page ;)

I remember I almost quit 24 in the first season because of her.

Oh come on, but she's fun! There's nothing better than stupid, self-involved Kim being a bitch the Chloe! And, of course, COUGAR ATTACKS!!!

He sounds Italian!

Yep. It's Eccleston. Although the extra syllable sounds very exotic. ;)
I rather liked his Doctor and was sad to see him go. I like Tenant, but the character is a bit too frantic at times. Still, I like him better than Colin Baker's Doctor.

Dumbass Kim on 24 was annoying to point of almost ruining the show for me. A nuclear bomb gets dropped in the US? OK. Jack goes into cardiac arrest and then jumps up and runs away? Alright. But Kim becomes a super-duper computer expert? Oh, HELL no.

CSI Miami? That entire SHOW is annoying as hell. Even my cable guy made a point of telling me much he hated that show. I secretly wish that they'd do a crossover between that show and another show set in Miami---Dexter. He could see how smug and incompetent they all are, and decide that he's actually doing a community service by taking them all out. Now THAT I would watch.

Not sure Gregory House has been mentioned. He can be incredibly annoying at times (though I have a good fun most of the time :D).

"Ecclestone" - sounds like the Flintstones version of The Doctor.
Oh, wow -- has anybody ever written a Doctor Who/Flintstones crossover? That would ROCK! (pun definitely intended ;))

Rose even comes with the annoying mother-in-law... :p

Chloe from 24 (stopping watching after she came along), Kara Thrace (no explanation needed.), Dr Morris (annoying idiot) and Dr Greene (weak and spineless) on ER, Spike (Defanged. Where did this lonely poet stuff come from?) on Buffy/Angel and K-9 (the droning voice, the kidifaction factor, ugly grey box on wheels) on Doctor Who.

(The Doctor looks at Dino)

D : Ah, yes, the Snorkasaurus. A true pity about this species.

(Dino puts his paw to his chin; Issues an 'Uh-oh'-type noise)

(Doctor looks at Barney )

D : My friend, you DO realize that forcing Mister Flintstone to miss his morning cereal helps contribute to his weight problem? And frankly, that 'Dalrock' suit isn't fooling anyone.

(Barney, in cheesy disguise, wanders off forlorn)

D : Let's be away from this 'Modern Stone Age', before we cause any more ---

(Fred looks at the 'Phone Booth')

FF : Hey, Doc? Do ya suppose my pal George Jetson has a time machine like yours?

D : --- timeline contamination.

(Sighs broadly)
