Ours never have, but then we don't define "rebel" as just any kind of conflict. Sure we have our differences of opinion, but in the end the kids all accept our parental authority, as we respect their rights and even needs top grow and mature and find their own way more and more. With our oldest, we have had a row over one aspect but in now way does it define a pattern of behavior. So no... they haven't tried to rebel as much as possible.
Damn, just how bad does she want out of her contract with Disney? They'll cut her loose soon enough. It has to be what she wants. No way you'll convince me otherwise.
It's a problem if you are actively parenting your kids as opposed to letting Hollywood or whoever do it for you - and trying to instill a certain moral code. Hopefully, the groundwork you as a parent have laid won't be adversely affected by what some celebrity says... but it still gets markedly more difficult when those celebrities do take on such roles this.
Well, this ad only affects your kids if they were planning to have sex. Now they'll have sex using a lifestyles condom. If they weren't, I honestly don't believe any ad will change their mind.
Most teens want to or DO have sex. Knowing this, and being aware of her own influence especially among girls, encouraging safe sex practices is a good, responsible thing for her to do. I agree with Trekker.

Poorly parented teens do. I certainly never did and neither did my brother.
We respects and loved our parents and, to an extent, "feared" them because we knew the consequences.
A properly parented and guided teen will have no reason to rebel.

Disney wouldn't like it because too many Americans are idiots when it comes to this kind of thing. That said, fifteen is not too young to be a "spokesperson" for contraception.

if 15 y/os are having sex, want to have sex, and like having sex... then how is a 15 year old too young to promote safe contraception? Makes no damn sense. Unless of course you just can't accept that 15 year old is just about the age where you get deliriously horny.

I'm 23 and I feel uncomfortable with the fact that I do find her very attractive. But while she's young and Disney DEFINITELY won't like this, I think this is a smart move. She's arguably the most popular girl on the planet right now and tweens and teens idolize her. Having her promote condom use will get them listening. Most teens today start having sex around 14 or 15 anyway.
Seems like most are missing the little detail that Condom Company is getting free publicity for saying THEY want Miley Cyrus to hawk their product. Nowhere does it say she is even interested or has even been asked.
