Well, the summer movie season is starting to ramp down a little bit, for me at least, now that The Dark Knight has come and gone. That was my most anticipated film of the year and now that it has passed it has come to my attention that there is in fact half a year left of films.
So, without further ado...
- American Teen. A documentary following four high school kids belonging to various "cliques" that received rave reviews at Sundance.
- Pineapple Express. The beginning of the R-rated comedies for me this year.
- Tropic Thunder. Another one that looks like damn fun. Something I may even like Ben Stiller in.
- Hamlet 2. Looks quirky and kinda fun.
- Righteous Kill. de Niro and Pacino together again? I'm there.
- Burn After Reading, gotta love those Cohens.
- W. Call it a morbid curiosity. Probably a mid-day cheap matinee for me.
- Zack and Miri Make a Porno. I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, this is a must. by far my most anticipated for the rest of the year.
- Quantum of Solace. Casino Royale was great, can't wait for this.
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The teaser just came out today and it looks sufficiently dark and interesting.
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I'm liking Brad Pitt in his serious roles more and Cate Blanchett is always wonderful.

And then there are those that are iffy whether or not I'll either see them in the theater or wait until DVD...
- Brideshead Revisited. l love Emma Thompson but with so much coming out this year, this can probably wait.
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I'm so on the fence about this it is ridiculous. Some previews make it look way too kiddy, others make it look fairly good. We'll see I suppose.
- The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. I really don't want to see it but the girlfriend might end up dragging me to it if she doesn't have anyone else who will go.
- Max Payne
- RocknRolla
- Bolt. I may be in the mood for a semi-decent looking kids film by the time I've seen all these rather adult ones. It happens sometimes, I need "fluff" to pad the rest.
- Twilight. Again no interest, but girlfriend may drag me to it.
- The Day the Earth Stood Still
- The Spirit. I'd rather have Sin City 2.
