IT'S NOT FAIR!!! (release dates)

Gah!

I just noticed that Australia, New Zealand, France, and a few other places will see the movie BEFORE it opens in the States! (Worse with A and NZ, since they're about a dozen hours AHEAD of the US anyway, clockwise! They'll get it a day and a half before the US does!)

It's just not fair... :(

:p

Don't worry we will be here pissing and moaning about the movie's shortcomings and revealing every detail so that by the time it's out in the States, you won't feel like going anymore:devil:

Boo hoo, yer breakin' my heart.

So Oz/NZ gets it a scant day or so earlier.

Talk to me when we here Down Under don't sometimes wait weeks after US release to see something. (Once in a while, we're stuck for months.)

We didn’t get the Dark Knight in Europe until 6 days after the US. Also Nemesis opened in the US on December 13th, 2002, but it didn’t premiere in the UK until January 3rd, 2003. Most people outside the US have to wait months to see the latest series of a tv show or a few days extra to see the latest film therefore you having to wait a day and a half is hardly unfair as the majority of the time the situation is the opposite.

:guffaw:

Although... after the movie is released, I will not be coming to tbbs until I get a chance to see. Don't want to be spoiled! Even if it turns out that it its not as good as we hoped... but the again, I didn't despise Nemesis. (Yes, I already have my blindfold for the firing line for admitting that ) I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it.

Yeah, I will avoid TBBS a couple of days before the movie comes out here in the U.S.
And then I will be on immediately after giving my results, pictures of me standing in front of the movie poster in the theater, me stealing the movie poster from the theater, and the sumptuously brutal beat down I will have after the police catch up with me in the parking lot. Those will be taken by my friends who shall remain anonymous.

I doubt the releasedate is set in stone already.

Even so ... we'll get to see it before, unless it opens on Wednesday, instead of the day that movies open in the USA, being a Friday. Here most movies open on a Thursday, so quite often the big films will open here earlier than the USA. I love it too!!

Oh and LOVE your signature. :guffaw:

Read it and weep! It's about time.

Down Under had ST:TMP about a week after the US, ST II a month later, ST III about four months later, and so on. I don't think any ST films have been close to a simultaneous release.

Australian movie debuts are usually the Thursday, with any sneak previews or gala premieres the night before. This one is likely to be a midnight screening premiere, I reckon, so in the wee hours of our Thursday morning (still the Wednesady for you) I'll be able to blog about how great it was. We're likely to have Eric Bana at the premiere, then they'll fly him to the US in time for the US premiere?

Maybe Paramount's been reading all the whining by American fans and they decided to premiere the movie somewhere with a more positive outlook?:guffaw:

Well, this is a pleasant and novel change. :bolian:

I highly doubt I'll go on opening day, but it might be worth it.... :D

So, who all is flying to the land of Oz to see the movie a day and a half early?

I bet someone somewhere does that :p Until they realise it's a better part of a day to get there, then you have jetlag to beat... And they'll fall asleep and the US will go out in their droves to see it on opening day. AND THEY'LL HAVE MISSED IT TWICE.

It's like an inverse Picard Manuevre if you think about it...

there will be sneak peaks.
i suspect some of us in the states will get to see it several days before its opening.
;)
