Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along blog

Yeah I saw that on Whedon.net and it looks interesting...it does resemble Sarah somewhat. I wonder if that will be pointed out on the DVD?

I'm dead inside, but is any one in love with Felecia Day now?

Has anyone wondered if this is set inside of the same Universe as the Tick since Liz Vassey was playing one of the league of evil and she may have turned tot he dark Side since the cancellation of the Tick?

Nah. Butterface.

On the other hand Liz Vassey is freakin' stunning. I missed her? Crap.

How sure are we that Jed, Zack and Maurissa ain't the prime movers just using their brother(inlawpending) as a draw card to put bums on seats? Hell, attaching his name to the project could be a wedding present. I mean as soon as I saw that this was a family project, that completely constructed a new power dynamic where Joss may not be the most important person behind the camera who certainly couldn't push people around without getting a Wet Willy or a noogie.

A possibility, but the dialogue, particularity Dr Horrible's, is absolutely classic Joss, you can hear a number of his more famous characters saying the words and sounding perfectly natural. The style of humour is his, too. A lot of the songwriting is a natural progression of what he said he liked and didn't liek about Once More With Feeling. Now its possible that's a family trait, but to me it certainly reeks of his input.

I just find it insane to look at Felicia and Nathan and see how huge they are... of course Nathan looks like he's all muscle and barrel chested like a circus strongman... And Felicia who has a worse English accent than even Madonna ain't no tiny child any more screeching about "Biscuits!" . Buffy season seven was SOOOOOO long ago.

As was asked in an interview here- http://whedon.info/Joss-Whedon-Dr-Horrible-s-Sing,27253.html

Arlington, VA: Does The Tick live near Dr. Horrible? Moist totally gives it away.

Joss Whedon: The Tick lives IN Dr Horrible. Ben Edlund was going to do the piece with us but had to drop out. "Bad Horse" was a character he’d pitched incessantly on Angel ("How could he make a radioactive device using only HOOVES?!?!?!?") so I wanted that in, and the first thing Ben pitched for this was Moist. But he had to bail right at the beginning. Much sadness, as he’s also a great song-writer. (And has an amazing singing voice. On the serious. Get him to do an album.)

What's this bullshit about no sequel?

First off, the Captain Hammer (myspace) web comic must if it hasn't already, spin into an actual comic, and who the hell hasn't seen BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN? Of course if I'm left to cast even more suggestions about the obvious next steps, Penny Comes back wrong (Could you imagine Dark Joyce taking over the world if Dawn hadn't stopped her?)... Penny (pretends to) falls for Bad Horse which begins a villain war which after the final body count tabs up it's evil tally, the Evil League of Evil is now completely mistressed by Bad Penny.

It's all blatantly obvious.

I just managed to see the entire thing last night - I'm really looking forward to the DVD (hey, I'm a complete whore for DVDs with a lot of extras! :D). I loved this show! It started a bit slow, but once the singing started, the rest of the story picked up considerably, and typical of Joss, the character development soared in song. And I got a real kick out of the fan chorus!!

He signed this!
We have a problem with her! (This is his hair!)
We do the weird stuff! (
ROTFLMAO!! :guffaw: )

Did anyone else think that Dr. Horrible's songs sounded like they were written for Spike? I could easily hear James Marsters singing every one of them.

If Disney every decides to do a hip musical animation, they could do a lot worse than trying to get Joss to write the songs; he's proven an astounding facility with lyrics, IMHO. Even though I still like OMWF better, I think the songs in Dr. Horrible show that he's matured in this particular craft.

I agree completely. Story-wise, "Once More with Feeling" had so much momentum behind it that it has much more impact. However, the songs in Dr. Horrible are both lyrically and melodically much stronger than his previous endeavors.

Oh, and I want a soundtrack as much as I want a DVD. :D
