Gonna bust my ENT cherry soon.

The Borg thing most of all. And...regarding that...I'm afraid to delve too far into threads about ENT cause I don't want big spoilers, but are we essentially looking at a revised timeline here because of the destroyed Borg ship?
Well I think it is meant to be the same timeline as the one where TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY occur but Brannon seemed to imply that there was enough room for fans to interpret events in several ways.
There's a story in Strange New Worlds 10 by M.C. DeMarco, "The Day the Borg Came," which (besides being a cool story) steps through the Borg timeline from Enterprise's era to Voyager's, in a way that stayed consistent with canon and made sense to me.

Glad you and Kathy are still enjoying the series, Rabitooth. I can't tell you what a treasure your enthusiasm is. :techman:

Really digging how serious and dark Archer is becoming now that the fate of Earth is in his hands.
I loved that element being introduced as well.

We were surprised at how the opening theme, which was already a bit goofy for a Trek series ,seems to have gotten a little added silliness with the more upbeat guitar strumming and the percussion.
Well, some of us like the goofy song. But hey, I like something about every episode. There aren't many like me out there.

And...ok...here's another question. I'm sure there are folks here who believe T'pols boobs get too much attention to begin with, but I gotta ask.
Did they get smaller, or is it me? Is it a change in wardrobe, or did she downsize at the surgeon's office?
Don't get me wrong...she looks more like an actual person and less like a rubber blow-up doll this way...but there almost certainly seems like there's a change there. :alienblush:
Poor Jolene. She already looked spectacular, but for Seasons 1 and 2 somebody (more detail-oriented folks than me might know who the actual culprit was) told Wardrobe to pad her costume anyway. In Season 3 onward, no padding. Much better look, IMHO.

Rock on, dude...

Wow. Seems like there's alot of folks here on this board who are not just fans, but directly involved in the creating of Trek! Pretty awesome. Guess I joined the right forum. :techman:
As to the song...it's growing on us. Actually, I think Kathy always liked it. It's growing on me as evidenced by the fact that I don't fast forward it anymore. :p
Well I'm happy to know that it was wardrobe "enhancements" in the earlier seasons and not a surgical procedure. Kathy, God bless her heart, was actually concerned that Jolene had to have stuff removed because of health complications related to implant rejection or something.
She does look alot better this way. Those other appendages were almost comical.
We watched "Impulse" last night and I was really happy to see Jolene's acting chops really coming out. Some very impressive stuff there. Plus...Zombie Vulcans...how can it get any more weird/cool than that?!! We were geeking out. Kathy is convinced they're gonna work out a way to get T'Pol and Trip to hook up.
There really is so much to be said about experiencing a TV Series for the first time through continuous DVD watching. I think it allows you to get more involved with the characters and really care about them,as well as making you less critical of individual episodes. If you don't have to wait a week (or even months) between shows, when a less-than-awesome one pops up, you just say "That was ok." or "Cute" or "Nice", and move on to the next one.
There's not as much anticipation, and hence not as much let-down if the episode is less than perfect.
As to "the Klingons are sissies"...we haven't seen too much of that yet, although they seem alot more based on the DS9 "version" of their culture.
It was awesome to see J.G. Hertzler as the defender in Judgment.

Still having fun,

-Rabittooth

OK...*whew*...
Well...we finished Enterprise and there is way too much to say given the limited time I have to post right now, but I'll say this...
Kathy and I are now really really devastated that this series was not given a full seven season run. It really is almost criminal. I had no idea how good it was.
I personally LOVED the whole Klingon augment-explains-TOS-smooth-forehead deal. I had a secret hope that they would throw something in to explain it. Awesomesauce.
The Mirror universe episodes were very cool despite having the feel that they just did them for fun. But it really was fun...so that's cool.
We were really mad when Trip and T'Pol's baby died and I was really pissed about Trip in the last episode. He had become one of my favorite characters in all of Star Trek. Really seemed unnecessary. I mean...why do that?
I plan to visit more of this forum now that I don't have to worry about spoilers anymore.
Kathy and I are really sad that there's no more Enterprise to watch at night after the baby is in bed. :(
We're gonna start re-watching TNG just to have a Trek fix, but I think it will almost take an effort to get over this feeling of loss.
Thanks to everyone here who made the experience more enjoyable!
Wish I could say more, but there's too much.

Welcome to Enterprise post traumatic stress syndrome.

We grieve with thee.

All of us who love the show have gone through it, and still feel twinges from time to time at the waste of all that great momentum and potential.

Glad you enjoyed the ride! :) Looking forward to seeing you in some other threads, now that you're a veteran like the rest of us. Enjoy the forum!

Afraid you got spoiled anyway. Glad you liked it.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about ENT, which fall into "Why I hated ENT" and simultaneously "Why I loved ENT." ENT had an awful lot of promise and fun characters that kept me coming back, no matter what. In the end, I don't think the series delivered what it could've (not because TATV, which I generally thought was less criminal than many other episodes) and am torn on whether it deserved more or should've been put down while there was still decency. As a *huge* fan of TOS, my favorite series, I thought this series tried to capture TOS-iness and may've for those who never saw it. In my eyes, it missed some of the best elements of TOS, including awe and friendship. The best of ENT will -- to me -- always be episodes like The Forge and Twilight for those two reasons.

:lol::guffaw:

sorry but as a major fan of tos who saw it in its first run and numerous times over the years enterprise did capture the spirit of it more so then any other trek series.

i suspect i am not alone in that feeling.
;)

I've noticed that for me Enterprise seems to be more re-watchable than TNG. I finally started watching episodes after buying the complete TNG DVD set a few months back and already find myself skipping through episodes. "The Naked Now" has to be as bad as any Enterprise episode, if not worse.

Yeah...for some reason Kathy and I are having trouble re-watching TNG right now. I guess it requires an internal mode change or reset or something.
We've segued into watching the movies (Did WOK last night...awesomesauce.).
Well....needless to say I'm not surprised fans wanted to pay for the next season themselves. Sure would have been great given enough time. I think about how, for me, Seasons 5 and 6 were the best for DS9. Seems like ENT could have done the same. :(

As someone who saw TOS first run starting (for myself) in 1968 - I agree with Pookha - ENT captured the original TOS spirit for me just fine; and was more true to that spirit then ANY of the other 24th century era Star Trek series. That's why ENT is my #2 favorite Star Trek series right behind TOS itself.

(DS9 is #3; TAS is #4; TNG is #5 - and VOY was one big Zero of a Star Trek series imo. I gave up watching it entirely after The 37's).

Noname, as mentioned above, I think what ENT lacked was the mystery and sure-fired friendship that TOS had in spades. I think some of the episodes captured that (like the Forge, which managed to fit in both -- a credit to Reeves-Stevens), but I would say overall ENT didn't. And I think this is where Coto and Braga failed.

I'm with you on Voyager. I thought it was a gigantic waste of time -- too bad, it had an interesting premise.

What did he want to do with the fifth season?

the Reeves-Stevenses were planning on doing an episode where we would see the origin of the FC Borg Queen and Alice Krige would play a Starfleet medic/officer who comes across some of the debris from Regeneration.

Shran would have become a regular and been assigned to the NX crew.

There was talk of a two part episode based on "The Cloud Minders".

There was to be another visit to the Mirror Universe.

They were going to build on the Romulan conflict.

A visit to Phlox's homeworld

A possible story involving Guinan and Q in the 22nd century where Guinan was under an alias.

A story about the building of the first starbase.

Really wow Guinan wasn't she in TNG and Q how are they able to use characters that weren't even around yet I never quite got that; you know the writers have a chance to create own characters and yet they take from shows whose characters weren't around yet til the other shows aired. They should have done Enterprise if they wanted to use the characters from other shows not before Kirk and Spock and them made it after Voyager. Or am I just confused lol!

Guinan is a member of a long lived species and we know from TNG she had been to Earth as early as the 19th century so squeezing her into the 22nd century wouldn't have been difficult.
