How Did Earth Get United?

I don't get how Deep Space Nine can overwrite a fact from the original series and you accept it, 3D Master, but Enterprise cannot. Especially considering the fact that we are talking about (the date of the Eugenics War) was so explicitly stated in Space Seed and the statement in Deep Space Nine was a mistake, not even an intentional retcon.

There's no debating with someone like that. Whenever there's evidence that contradicts your view, you just unilaterally toss it out the window and dream up your own "canon" evidence - there a victory for creativity!
Irony detectors worldwide just exploded.

Well, um, I just thought Earth got united after Humans realized that we really weren't alone in the Universe and that we'd better get our !@#$ together before someone not as friendly as the Vulcans visit us too...

Just IMO...

Because Deep Space 9 didn't, TOS did it themselves. TOS is rather fuzzy on some dates to begin with, but the Eugenics Wars in Space Seed are called "the third World War, and the last of your so-called world wars." Yet, in Bread and Circuses we have the "nuclear holocaust of the 21st century" aka WWIII. Also, the DY-100 back in the 1990s versus the description of the ships fighting in Earth-Romulan war of the 22nd century are contradictory. If ships like those were flying around the 1990s, 2 centuries later they wouldn't be fighting with ships so primitive they allowed for no quarter.

So indeed, both an episode before Space Seed, and one Space Seed very explicitly tells us that the Eugenics Wars did not happen as it was said they happened in Space Seed.

So what's to do? Remove Space Seed altogether? Or place it in a different era? DS9 conveniently answers the question and gives us that era; beautifully so. Spock's line could be changed to the 22nd century, and removing a war, "the last of your internal wars" and the episodes stands all but unchanged, even the info in the dialogue keeps the same spirit.
