Niners: what are your opinions on the 4 TNG films?

My opinion is much the same as everyone else's. FC was great. Loved it. But I liked Generations more than most. I really liked the Nexxus concept a lot. I could imagine a place so intriguing, intoxicating and captivating that a person would want to dwell there forever. It's heaven. Only you don't have to sing all day.

Kirk died. That was cool.

GEN: OK, but missing something.

INS: Dull, very predictable and unecessary.

NEM: The worst. absolutely foul. Regurgetated TNG plot and revisionist. YUCK!

How is Nemesis revisionist?

FC was extremely revisionist - Nano probes, Borg Queen, Z Cochran - all vastly changed from the TV series - however it was done well

I don't think calling nano probes revisionist works well. I always assumed they were a new development in Borg technology that hadn't been encountered in previous engagements. And from their portrayal in the movie, there's no reason to get hung up believing otherwise.

Same goes for the Queen. More insight than revision.

It's simple.

Wesley Crusher returned to Earth, re-enlisted at Starfleet Academy, and finished out his final year.

Just because he wasn't serving aboard the Enterprise-D/E during Generations-Nemesis doesn't mean he wasn't assigned to other ships?

With all the experience and training under his belt by the time he was a Starfleet Academy graduate, he made Lieutenant [j.g.] quickly, and easily (Unlike, Harry Kim...).

Nemesis is the worst piece of shit from the franchise to hit the big screen. it's frigging embarrassing. I think I might have left in disgust except I saw it with family. I don't even consider it canon. I consider FF canon. it takes a lot for me to say "no... no... no, this is just too fucking awful to salvage mentally. no."

the script of Nemesis was atrocious. space vampires with a villain-sue for an antagonist does not make a compelling story.

I thought Shinzon was a great villian - he was pretty impressive

What I meant to say was that I enjoyed and would rather watch TFF (at least) 10-times over that of NEM.

I take good characterizations with bad special-effects and poor writing with "heart" (TFF) over that of poor characterizations with good special-effects and poor writing with "cynicism (when TNG was all about optimism...)" (NEM), anyday.

Whether you enjoyed NEM or not, that is fine; myself personally, I take a pass.
