4th wall Tostadas

Sometimes a movie (THE LAST ACTION HERO) or a Tv show (Moonlighting-Boston Legal) will actually have a character talk to the audience as if they know they are being watched by an audience. Even Mr. Roper on THREES COMPANY did it when he would put down his wife, then turn to the screen and laugh as if he knew we were laughing with him..

Can you think of a time where Star Trek did something that was intended to penetrate that Fourth Wall?? Something that was aimed at the audience?

Indirectly there was a wink to the audience in Ship in a Bottle when Picard wonders if they are living their lives out is someone's box on a table somewhere and when Barclay says end program and then the credits start to roll.

Yes, I do remember that one as well. One of my favorite TNG episodes. I came up with the part in TREK V when they show the WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE inscription on the old style conning wheel in the recreation room..
