Well I'm an EYEWITNESS to the launches..I SAW every manned Saturn V liftoff with my own eyes, I was there....and the live coverage wasn't edited at the time, there were the delays between communications that were expected on the live coverage..I met many of the Astronauts..and none of them were faking jack... We simply need to face reality that for political reasons the USA went to the moon..simply to beat the Russians..not for a noble purpose..just simply to prove how strong the USA was compared to the USSR..

And if you think for one minute that the Russians weren't preparing to beat the USA there, you are mistaken..

Fake, they did an unmanned landing and the stuff on TV was film on stage, look up ''missing" Apollo tapes, and you can see the flag wave and Clinton implied it was fake in his autobiography. So fake.
I haven't read Clinton's autobiography. Would you be so kind as to quote here the passage containing this implication?

I have a feeling that many of the "doubters" in this thread are trolls, but it never hurts to illuminate the masses. here are some youtube clips to make you think.

This one really doesn't look like it was shot in a soundstage. It would be hard to mimic this motion.

There was some talk earlier about ballistics. Here are some throw objects. Someone else will have to do the math I'm afraid.

This one deals with using hi-def pictures of the moon and terrain data to simulate the view of a person standing on the moon. these predictions match the Apollo pictures perfectly

Anyway, Food for thought.

Well, if the moon landings were faked I have to chuckle at all the little nuances they put into the "scipts". Having the Apollo 12 camera go kaput, I guess Stanley Kubrick wasn't avalible to direct the fake footage. Having both John Young and Gene Cernan pretend to accidentally rip the Rover fender off. Pretending the remote control mechanism was malfunctioning on the Apollo 15 TV camera so that Houston had to ask the moonwalkers to help them move the camera several times.

My favorite little "scipt" touch: John Young pretending to think his microphone was turned off and using profane language, talks about his farts and how sick and tired he is of oranges for the whole world to hear. Then Houston pretends to call up and tell him his mike is still on. Hah, very funny.

Nah, I don't believe in the moon hoax theory for one microsecond.

It must be easy to dismiss the possibility of monumental human achievements when one never managed to achieve getting out of their parents' basement....

I just don't get this whole conspiracy mentality, and the need to believe that things aren't what they appear to be. What's more far fetched: to believe that the someone orchestrated a vast fake involving thousands upon thousands of people in everything from NASA to aerospace companies like Grumman and somehow managed to keep it secret that it was bogus, or that they actually used all the expertise to do what they actually set out to do?

And as to the lost Apollo video footage and telemetry, that's only from Apollo 11, not the other five landings.

To nip more misinformation in the bud, NASA has nothing to do with the Bad Astronomy website. It is solely the work of Dr. Phil Plait, its creator.

Another thing: Being elected president doesn't make anybody an expert in engineering, physics, or using their brain critically. Clinton's comment is worth no more than Jimmy Carter seeing a UFO.

Just for clarity NASA had commissioned Phil Plait to write a book on the subject and backed out; they do link to his website for queries about the topic. I would regard that as backing or support.

Moon? What moon? You mean that government projection in the sky? That's there as a cover for all the gravitational forces experiments Area 51 is conducting. Don't you know anything?

So what holds up the screen for the projector? Oh yeah, strings.

The problem with conspiracy theories like this is that there is no way to disprove them to those who really want to believe them. You could show some people all the proof in the world, open every classified NASA post card send them a f@#%&$g post card from the sea of tranquility and some people would still choose to believe it is all faked.

Same with Roswell, the Government could release every scrap of information, every classified document on that incident whatever it was and if the answer ended up being anything but aliens nobody would believe it, even if it happened to be the truth....I may have just opened up a whole other can of worms by saying this in a science fiction forum...

The Truth IS out there...but nobody really wants to look for it...
