I really didn't get this bit. I thought the whole point of the symbiont was getting the previous host's memories. Yet we are shown that Jadzia is completely ignorant of Curzon's affection for her. She finds out only after 'speaking' to him.
That must be weird. Was she suddenly in love with herself? Maybe that's why she always came off as wee bit arrogant.
I thought the whole point of Facets was that the memories of a former host were removed, so until Curzon left Odo, Jadzia did not have any of Curzon's memories?
Perhaps Jadzia was aware of and had reconciled with those memories—until Curzon was compartmentalized and placed in Odo. Since host and symbiont are described as working together like two computers, perhaps Jadzia is denied access to the symbiont's 'hard drive' for the duration of this ritual. There's little to be gained, after all, from meeting your symbiont's antecedent hosts if no surprises are in store.
