Jackie Chan's Top 12 Stunts

Wow. I had no idea he had done stunts that crazy or that he was injured that badly.

I thought the voice of the narrator sounded familiar, then I realized it was the Angry Video Game Nerd.

he's one crazy mofo:

Notice how none of those were from his hollywood films, however.

Some of those are totally insane & dangerous stunts.

On one level, I love that we can watch the results. On another, they seem almost shockingly reckless in disregard for safety compared to most stuntwork on US films (for examples). Just WOW, in many different tones.

Part of the reason Chan prefers working in China than in the US on films; there's a lot less regulation and restrictions there for the stunts he wants to do.

isn he a lot more careful now days.
it may not be a top stunt but one fav of mine is using a ladder to fight with.

Ah, HK filmmaking. I don't think it's even possible to do that type of stuff there nowadays though... not that anyone would want to.

Hmm, that guy seems mainly impressed with Jackie Chan trying to get himself killed. But who cares? That sort of thing can be done in front of a green screen. I've seen far more inventive stunts from Chan that had some kind of cleverness behind the idea of the stunt, and those stunts weren't even featured on this list.

For my money, this is the kind of stunt that impresses me. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the idea behind it is to mock the eternal stupidity of warfare, but the elegantly choreographed simplicity of it is what makes it so brilliant. And yeah, Buster Keaton probably could have died doing this, but so what? That's not what makes it brilliant.

Well, I think his age has slowed him down quite a bit. But then, isn't he in his 60s or something? I think it's a miracle he's survived this long. So many of those are just totally batshit crazy! My jaw was on the floor the entire time, I've never seen anything like it. Between his amazing stuntwork and strong comedic timing, I think I might have to nominate Jackie Chan the greatest entertainer of all time.

I think that was the whole point of his list. The fact that he didn't fake those stunts or have any kind of safety mechanism for them.
