Does anyone actually follow Kramer's advice?

Last night, he was talking about GM and Ford... From where I am sittin, I think they will dip another 10-15% before rebounding... But he made some interesting points about their debt holders taking over...

I've heard he's good
I've heard he's a wind bag

Which is it?

He's good. The wind-baggy stuff is just a gimmick for viewers. He knows his shit, made bazillions as a hedgefund manager, and makes his show accessible to new investors and veterans. You do have to wade through the bullshit a bit, but he's had some great recommendations, and I've made plenty by following his advice.

When it's time to make a decision about my portfolio, the first place I go to do homework is www.thestreet.com, Cramer's website. There's usually plenty of info on there without even having to subscribe to anything.

Remember, "Bulls make money, bears make money, but hogs get slaughtered!" And stay with Cramer!

There are occasional pearls of wisdom mixed in among the noise, and he's right to be as scathing as he is about corporate mismanagement in some companies. It's OUR money that's often frittered away by poor managers and he has a right to shout about that. I wish the ibanks would be as stern with poor managers in companies they invest in sometimes. He's tiring to sift through though.

I much prefer Julie Alexandria in Wallstrip though. Stock advice with a smile! ;)

I really can't stomach too much of his show, which is why I prefer visiting The Street.com. It's all the Cramer you need, without the yelling and theatrics. He still knows his shit.

I sometimes watch his show, but I'm not in the market. He is loud, but he is entertaining, and like everyone else is saying, he knows a lot. Has anyone actually read any of his three books?

he does know a lot... I don't deny that.

And I have no doubt that he has pulled some gems... but I've watched his show maybe 10 times in the last 2 months... and in at least 2 of them he was apologizing for previously screwing the pooch with bad picks

Well, with this volitile market, it's hard to make the right choices. Everyone is not doing well, unless you're a rich own in oil stock or something.

Actually, I think oil is a bad investment. :D

I don't think either McCain or Obama are particularly friendly to "big oil" and in the next administration they'll either get reigned in or out n out spanked... depending on who wins
