Caan reminded me of the hybrids from battlestar galactica. Maybe this week Caan will say "All of this has happened and will happen again, again, again, again"

Yeah, his babbling (three-fold man, the dark lord is coming, his most faithful companion will die) reminded me both of the Pre-Cogs in Minority Report and the Hybrids in Battlestar Galactica. I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought of that.

Unlike the Hybrids, though, Caan at least makes sense. :p

Hey, I understand most of what the Hybrids say. Just like Caan. I'm still uncertain about the "three-fold man" bit. :p

And they'll actually follow through with his predictions!

sorry for being dense but I don't understand how Dalek Caan went insane.

Okay I understand the phrase "time locked" If it were unlocked, time could be rewritten and anyone can go back and make changes to the war.

That's why the doctor has said he can't go back. It's the equivalent of a deadlock on a door. Somehow Caan got through by emergency temporal shifting.

So my question is, did he have to relive the time war over and over? how did that happen?

Is it because the time war is "time locked" it will forever repeat in some pocket of time?

I think Caan said he had to temporal shift again and again to get through to rescuer Davros. Sort of a very very intense 'Groundhog Day'. Trying to keep things straight in your head about the same events that you are also reshaping couldn't be good for you. And as emh said, the Time Vortex, wasn't kind to the Master.

Caan: "I flew into the wild and fire. I danced and died a thousand times". I don't know what the Nightmare Child was but daaammnn...

"......and so Dalek Caan temporal shifts from time to time hoping his next shift will be the shift to Davros!"

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I saw it all on youtube. Some quick remarks:

1) I loved how all three shows essentially combined forces to contact the Doctor.

2) Nice to see the Judoon again, and apparently the Doctor speaks Judoonese(?).

3) Davros was very well done. He was very creepy and reminded me of Freddy Krueger in some ways.

The problem with his previous stories (Destiny, Revelations, and Resurrection) was that he was essentially the actual bad guy in the story and the Daleks were just his dumb goons. This problem was solved by having Red Supreme Dalek share a good chunk of screentime with Davros. The Red Dalek may still be a goon, but he's a well-defined goon that has his own personality.

I also thought that Davros was made creepy by his willingness to use his own cells to rebuild the Daleks. Not only that, but he seems to treat the Red Supreme Dalek like a student and is also quite fond of Dalek Caan. This all shows that Davros sees the Daleks and something other than mere tools to be used to gain personal power.

4) Caan the laughing Dalek. That was great!

Caan said he died a thousand times.

That's a pretty fracked up time loop to suffer, especially since the Doctor and Romana already told us how to break a time loop. He would have tp willing kill himself before the preordan(c)ed moment to cancel the wave front with a matching frequency.

Then of course how many times to Leoban die?

Oh, I WANT to see that! :D

And for those commenting on Rose's complaints, I found this on (iirc) deviantart a year or so ago (sorry for page stretch, it was much bigger):

It probably reminds many people of countless characters/plot devices, because it's a cliche that's been doing the rounds since the bible.

The problem for me there is i can't actually tell which one Sarah Jane is supposed to be. Is it the one in the purple pant-suit?

I'm still uncertain about the "three-fold man" bit. :p

I'm guessing it refers to a past, present, and future Doctor all being in one place/time simultaneously. It'll take 3 Doctors to resolve this mess.
