Coldplay on The Daily Show

Anyone else Coldplay on The Daily Show the other night? I've had a crazy week, so I can't remember which night it was on.

They were phenomenal. As much of a fan as I am, even if I wasn't, that was, in my opinion, the best (live) musical performance on a show I've ever seen. I have my tivo set to record it when it gets repeated so I can crank the system up and have a copy of it on my tivo indefinately.

I haven't found the performance on youtube yet, but I'm still looking.

It was pretty good. Aside from the songs they played there and Violet Hill, I haven't heard any of the new album, but I was decently impressed. I've also never seen them live before, so it's hard to get a feel of how they were (they seemed good, but not spectacular). They definitely don't rock, but what they do they do very well.

They played 42 and Lost. While 42 isn't so much of a high energy song, their performance of it was amazing and I think they really rocked Lost.

OK, I wasn't sure which songs they played.

I noticed Chris Martin's tendency to move away from piano (I think most songs off X&Y were piano songs), which is good (you can't be a cool frontman sitting down on a piano at the very least).

Earlier in the week Coldplay was on Jimmy Kimmel Live [a show that often repeats so look for it if you want]

not as phenomenal a performance.
