Blue Warp Nacelles?

Doesn't the Big E in the teaser also have 1960 Dodge fins on the nacelles?

Back around page 16 or so, someone did a really great .gif of the "DEE-BRERO-PRISE".
It is really great but seems to be lacking one thing...

it needs a Grrrrr-mouth, added to the bottom of the primary hull.
Just about where the flash if coming from.

It just doesn't look "Bandito-Mean" enough without it.

I'll give it a try, but I was barely able to get a sombrero on my Avat after an hour of trying. (I use a program called GIMP cause Photoshop is just too darn expensive!) :klingon:

EDIT...

This is the the pic I'm talking about... (BTW: Is the torp supposed to look like it's HITTING the ship??)

I couldn't find a growling mouth....
But maybe this'll work???

(Now... I jest gotta figure out how ta combine um....)

Now the Canon Wars can begin!

"The sombrero dimensions are bigger on the blueprint!"
"So?"
"Well, that means it's canon, as it's a BLUEPRINT!"
"Wrong! It's what's on screen that counts! The smaller sombrero is canon!"
"You're full of crap, dude!"
"YOU'RE full of crap, dude!"

**enter third fan**

"Err....it only looks smaller than the blueprint because of the foreshortening effect and viewing angle....canon is not violated...."

"SHUT UP, POINDEXTER!"

:D

I posted the following pic last night. This morning I deleted it. I wasn't pleased with the way it turned out. I now have a version I like much better but I am posting the new pic as a link. It's now over 1MB. Give Image Shack a few seconds to download all its frames (my normal image host compressed the shit of of this :( so I went with Image Shack).

EDIT: You really don't need to download this anymore. Go one post down. NCC-1701 to the rescue!

Perfect! You're a wiz at that, NCC-1701. Thanks.

If you don't mind my asking, how did you do that? My problems came in the batch conversion from .jpg to .gif. I kept the animation quality but it became huge. What program did you just use there?

Thanks, Gregg.

I use Macromedia Fireworks 8. The trick is, that the areas of the GIF animation that don't change from frame to frame must be exactly the same pixelwise. So I copied the area around the beautiful nacelle animation and pasted it to every frame. The GIF file will be much smaller this way, because the area that is actually animated is quite small.

Helpful?

Very much so, Michael. Thank you.

I use a cheesier program for making my animations, Easy GIF Animator 4. It's worked well enough in the past and I've been able to change just parts of an animation before without adding much onto the file size. Somehow it looks just for the changes. That worked again with this animation. My original version is only 104 KB. It seemingly only changed the cap. My problem came in converting my work product from a .jpg (I also did a .bmp test - no different) to a .gif. Easy GIF Animator 4 does that, but it cut down too much on the picture quality. I found a free program, IrfanView, that did a great job of batch processing the .jpgs to .gifs, but that's when my file size blew up.

Sounds like I need to use Fireworks 8 for my animations.
