After thinking about this Ron Moore thing and watching BSG, I have lost a little respect for him as a person and a little bit as a writer. I've read the interview, and I just really didn't like the way he handled the Voyager situation. Whether he chose to go to voyager or asked, the simple fact was he was allowed to join the writing team of that series. I know there were issues about how it was run from not just Moore but from many of the crew but to go into an interview and blast the guy (Who was basically your Boss) who allowed you to come and write an episode or two seemed really unprofessional.
Now we get all these what Voyager should have been with BSG and I'm getting tired of it. Was there a lot of things Voyager could have improved with, yeah? I don't consider it the best series because there were a lot of flaws, but I did find it enjoyable. However, these comparisons with BSG are unfounded and I'd even argue that BSG has lost it's way on survival too. I mean they haven't had a supplies or really survival episode in what, 2 or 2.5 seasons? I think the last one was Hand of God and it was a great episode. Since we've gotten worries about food and stuff like that, but it's more been about one ship, one military, and love triangles. BSG itself could do a much better job addressing needs of the fleet that doesn't include forming unions or stuff like that.
I like Voyager, and I like BSG. Ron Moore is not overhyped, but he isn't god either. He's just a good writer who I think is succuming to his own hype which is why he hasn't been great for the last few BSG seasons.
