Any word on the image quality used? I seriously hope we're going to get at least 1024 px page width, artifact-free. Otherwise there wouln't be much point int getting it... most of my CBRs are actually wider than 1024px.

The image quality on my Amazing Spider-Man DVD from the same company is excellent. The resolution is good enough that you can make out the individual dots in the old-style color printing, and you don't see any noticeable pixellation until you blow it up to at least 300%.
I just typed in GIT at the Amazon UK site and, well…. “git” is not a polite word in British English.
When I looked at their website I noticed that most is out of stock. I am mainly interested in the Spider-Man and Star Trek comics collection. When someone finds it at Amazon or somewhere else, I hope to read it here so that I can order it, too.

The Marvel collections they did, once they're sold out, they're gone. Marvel pulled the license in advance of launching their own online comics service. If you come across stock out there, buy it.

If you read a lot of on-line comics, a flip monitor is a must (that or a 32"...).
I've really gotta resist the urge to rant about the pure, whole-grain idiocy of that action. I was a faithful buyer of all of GIT's collections, and would've continued to do so for the foreseeable future. Instead of these delightfully thorough collections, Marvel starts something they laughably call Digital Comics "Unlimited," which is so unlimited that the only classic issues it has seem to be ones that were already collected in paperback form. If it wasn't so morbidly sad, it would be hilarious.

I followed your advice and yesterday I had a good look around on eBay. There are quite a few people offering DVD sets but most of them admit that these are copies they have done themselves. I think I found the originals of the Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man and Iron Man DVDs although in case of Amazing Spider-Man I am less sure if it is indeed an original copy.
At around £ 5 each, if they are indeed the originals, I think this is a bargain. But I will have to wait and see when they arrive if I was indeed lucky. I don`t mind a copy if I can`t find the original but if I can, I definitely buy the real thing.
They would be in PDF format, so you'd need a computer with Adobe Reader and a DVD-ROM drive. As for how it would look, it looks like scanned comic book pages displayed in an Adobe Reader window. (And they scan everything. At least in my Spidey DVD, the scans include everything from cover to cover, including the letter column, editorials, ads, the works.)

It would be cool if the bonus material included the original introductions from DC's trade-paperback collections. I hope it includes DC's Who's Who in Star Trek as well.
Hmm... going through the ST Comics Checklist site, adding up all of Gold Key, Marvel, DC, Malibu, and Wildstorm, I get a total of about 523 separate issues, and that's counting all annuals, specials, and graphic novels (and Who's Who), but not counting reprints or alternate editions. So "over 550" suggests that nothing I'm aware of is being left out, which is great -- but it also suggests that maybe something more is included. I wonder what.

Me too. I also hope that it includes the TOS graphic novels Debt of Honor and Ashes of Eden (based on the novel of the same name). I wonder if the collection will also include the TOS portion of The Modala Imperative.
Err, this collection includes everything, not just TOS. There will be a second, cheaper disk which is only TOS comics, but the main one will include every TOS, TNG, DS9, VGR, Starfleet Academy, Early Voyages, etc. comic ever published except for the recent stuff from IDW and TokyoPop.
And like I said above, when I added up every Trek comic ever published before 2005, I got only 520 or so, and that's including every graphic novel and movie adaptation. The press release says there will be over 550 comics, so it seems pretty likely that absolutely everything will be there, and then some. I wonder what those other 30-some comics could be. Maybe they even threw in the things Alan Dean Foster did for those book-and-record combos way back when? But there are nowhere near 30 of those.
I had it reversed in my head. I thought the TOS disc was first. My bad.
