NFL football..Can't wait!!!

I am a long time San Diego Chargers fan. I can't wait for the new season to start, especially since the Padres suck so bad this year. If the Chargers are going to do it they are running out of time. LT isn't getting any younger. But with a pretty good defence, and depth finally a key positions, I think the Chargers are truely primed for it his year..

The AFC West, the rest of it at least, is in a rebuilding stage. The Broncos haven't impressed me for a couple years now, but they might be headed back in the right direction. I think KC Chiefs had a great draft, maybe the best this year. They are still a couple years off, but they will be a good team soon. The Raider? Until Al Davis lets that team go, or he 'goes', I just don't think much should be expected of them..

Can the Chargers finally get past that AFC championship hump? Hard to say.

And the best part? The season is just THREE months away!!! Whew-hew!!!!! I already have my Sirius sattlelite radio primed and ready!!

With Norv Turner at the helm? My Magic 8-Ball sez, "Outlook not so good." :(

yes, I would normally agree. But they showed a lot of character to come back from that bad start last year. If LT doesn't get hurt, and Rivers had one workable knee, let alone two, they could have won that AFC title game last year....

But..that is all in the past...Our schedule is very soft this year, compared to last year's, so I think we should make it into the playoffs...who else will? Hard to say.

This ongoing filming of games by Patriots is far from over. A friend of mine who does advertising work for Sports Illustrated told me a big hard hitting story will come out in mid july exposing more of what Patriots did...

Sure...more Patriots "Spygate" crapola...Im sure it will be as hard hitting as Matt Walsh's Rams walkthrough. Oh yeah, it doesn't exist. People need to stop worrying about the Pats so much and should figure out what there own teams should do.

I'm a football junkie. College and pro.

The NFL Sunday Ticket is God's gift to hardworking men everywhere.

I predict the Rams will be going to Super Bowl!!

Huzzah!

:techman:

Niether can I. The great thing about the NFL is every year just about every team has a shot at winning it all. My team has a very hard schedule but they keep overcoming and having winning seasons. Hell the browns might be good this year. Who am I kidding? GO STEELERS!!!

I don't know if my G-Men can repeat, but it doesn't matter. The high from the Superbowl will probably carry me a long while.

That said, the NFC East is going to be a battle again, I like the Dolphins chances for a .500 season, and I think everyone underestimated the Chargers last year, but they will be contenders this year. Heck, if Tomlinson had been playing in the AFC Championship, the Giants probably would have played the Chargers in XL. The Patriots were weak in that game, the Chargers offense was just too banged up to capitalize.

This may sound stupid, but with all the off-season crap that's going on, I'm not all that enthused yet.

Rob,

I don't think the Chargers can get by the AFC. Weak division, yes, but as a conference I don't see them better than 4th or 5th best. I think Jacksonville will be the surprise team in the AFC and I'm not even a Jags fan.

Not sure if you want in on the TNZ Fantasy League or if you already responded, but it'll be fun.

Do you have Sunday Ticket?

Can we all agree to hate the Eagles?
Eh, other than on a principle level (just spite towards Philly, really. Seems fair that the rest of us get to hate their teams as much as they do :p ) , there's just not much about the Eagles to even care about right now, much less hate. Imploded after playing the Pats in the Superbowl, and haven't bounced back from that yet.

The J-E-T-S, on the other hand...

That's not hate, that's being realistic. No one loves their teams more than Philadelphia. We just have an odd way of showing it ;)

The coming season will see the beginning of the Toronto Experiment - when the Bills pretend to be a 'home' team at the Rogers Centre, for one game a year at least.

Wonder how that will work out.

(On another matter, I didn't realise that NFL teams apparently never play off-season games, either against other NFL teams or those from other leagues around the world...)

Then screw reality, with its well known anti-Eagle bias. My book about the 2008-2009 NFL season ends with a parade down Broad Street and the Dallas Cowboys getting sold to Oshawa. I like happy endings.
