Amen to that, brother!! Love the comparison.Without a doubt, the NCC-1701.
Just like a '65 Mustang convertable, you can't get any better.
Or E.NCC-1701 no bloody A B C or D.![]()
Seems pretty much tied between the TOS E, the Refit E, and Picard's ship. Interesting!
You had an Ent-D alarm clock?Enterprise D for me, not that the original doesn't have its merits but I just think it looks more solid. Plus, it reminds me of my old alarm clock![]()

Same here!! I think it has something to do with the fact that the original design was created by a real-life aeronautics engineer instead of a regular Hollywood concept artist. He put a LOT of thought into the design to make it as practical and utilitarian as it was beautiful. The original design always struck me as the most realisitic of all of them.

Ick.Are you asking only about exterior, or interior counts too?
If we are counting interior, then Enterprise D, no doubt. The most beautiful bridge ever.
Yep! Always struck me as being the most futuristic-looking; all the other designs were too cluttered and overcomplicated. They never really looked that high-tech to me...It's not my favorite design, but I think it's definitely the most functional of them all.
Finally someone agrees...the D's bridge didn't even LOOK like a bridge. It looks like a big lounge - the whole ship was just a flying Hilton Hotel. Too cushiony for me. And the holodecks, where you just play out crazy fantasies all by yourself with fake people? Sorry, I'll take the TOS Rec Room (where people share meals, sing songs, play chess/checkers/cards, and just generally INTERACT WITH OTHER REAL HUMANS) over a Holodeck any day.Ick.
I hated the ENT-D bridge from day one. My first reaction on seeing it was to wonder if they held dances there on Saturday nights. It's sterile. Ridiculously large considering there were rarely more than 5 people on it. The viewscreen was frankly preposterous. Why would anyone want an image of a person to be 5x the size of someone standing on the bridge?
