Borg and Deep Space Nine books?

editing because a thought just occurred to me. i believe DS9R is about 3 or 4 years behind TNGR. i think in the TNG books they act like they haven't seen the borg since first contact and the voyager stuff so i don't think it would make sense for a DS9R borg book to come out.

Well, the last Borg encounters prior to the TNG-R were "Endgame" and Homecoming/The Farther Shore -- the end of 2377 to the start of 2378. The DS9-R is currently at the very beginning of 2377. So theoretically there's room for DS9 to do something with the Borg within that one-year interval.

However, I don't see any compelling reason to do a Borg story in DS9. It's a big universe, so everything shouldn't have to cross over with everything else (except in very extraordinary cases like Destiny).

I've never seen a map of the ST galaxy maybe if the wormhole is within shooting distance of the delta quadrant border they could encounter them in the GQ,

There's just such a map in Star Trek Star Charts. If you picture the galaxy as a clockface, the Delta Quadrant is the area between 12 and 3, and the Gamma terminus of the Bajoran Wormhole is close to 10, and fairly close to the galactic rim.

Which of course means nothing, given the Borg's trasnwarp capabilities, and the large percentage of the GQ that remains unknown.

Maybe we can get around that distance with a transwarp conduate cop out;)

You're forgetting something already mentioned earlier in the thread: that the Borg have reached the territory around the Bajoran wormhole's Gamma Quadrant terminus, as seen in Mission Gamma: Lesser Evil. And it's not a "copout" for the Borg to be there any more than it is for them to be in Federation space, because the distances are comparable.

I will be getting to that novel in due course
Now write one where a cube attacks DS9 or I will boycott all your books!

Or, you could always write a story yourself where that happens, and post it in the Fan Fiction forum and have all the Trek authors come and start topics on it...
