Seems nobody has noticed the second alien on the picture (the fifth one) with the alien everybody is talking about. Look at the right of the pic for the female alien with the bald, purple head and the spots on her legs.

That's a good thing actually, because of that a few classics have been born.
Me, I happen to love the new BSG as well its more Battlestar then the original ever really was as it found the heart of the true premise of that show.
Me I could careless if the delta is the symbol for all of StarFleet...
What would mind is if the story isn't interesting, or worse if I'm not entertained for two hours and change.
Someone made a remark about the makeup being like TNG or something up thread - that second alien actually seems more reminiscent of something, and I don't mean this at all derisively, as somewhat Star Warsish - Lucas does do aliens pretty well.

It being a "remake" (And we actually don't know that, since visual evidence alone is not enough to establish that - or TMP must also be a remake...) should have totally no bearing on if it is a good film or not.
Who's gonna suggest that Nimoy isn't playing the same Spock we last saw on Romulas? We are fairly sure that a part of the movie takes place in the 24th Century - that will also likely not look like TNG... cosmetic changes alone tell us very little.

I said it over at TrekMovie.com and I'll say it here, as well. I'm worried about these bizarre looking aliens. They are veering close to being freak-tastic Star Wars aliens.
I do not want weirdo Star Wars aliens in a Star Trek movie. With a few rare and acceptable situations, Star Trek aliens were never about the bizarre and freaky. 95% of the aliens in Star Trek were bi-pedal lifeforms with two eyes, two ears, one mouth, two arms, and two legs. They were that way for an in-show reason (budget), but also (most importantly) an in-universe reason (Progenitor Race).
This is not a deal breaker for me (Why would it be?), but I would be very disappointed if JJ went that route.
