Another late entry from me and TOS shuttlecraft again (well, I have just finished the model :)).

I wasn't sure what to do with the racing liveries, so I used the colours of some tv/movie cars, no prizes for guessing which ones. ;)

We've got Herbie, the Starsky & Hutchmobile, the Mystery Machine and the General Lee. :)

This would be really cool and in a true racing theme if they were in some old school NASCAR colors (i.e. a black #3, blue #43, white and green #11)

Can I have a bigger version of the Mystery Machine, please? :)

Aaah, you would ask for a larger image of one the I'd spent the least amount of time on (I didn't expect it to come under any close scrutiny). I suppose it's as good an excuse as any to spruced it up a bit. Here's the updated look:

I was think of using actual racing colours at one point, unfortunately my knowledge of racing doesn't extended much beyond "The Wacky Races". ;)

Ha, Shuttle-Herbie is so going to win.

Too right!! :techman:

That's way cool! I love the details. Scooby-Doo is one of my favorite animated shows. Thanks, Starscape! *right-click/save*

Very cool! I've done a Herbie and General Lee Viper before, but not as shuttles!

You gotta post closeups and multiple views of all the shuttles.

I don't think I could face rendering a whole load of multiple views for each. :borg: But here's some close ups:

Herbie

The Striped Tomato - Starsky & Hutch

The Mystery Machine - Scooby-Doo

The General Lee - The Dukes of Hazard

And bringing up the rear we have:

The Galileo

That's all I needed. If I can get a pile of the old shuttle model kits real cheap, I might build some of these.

Oh, and, you gotta take your Wile E. avatar a step further - speed up the blast animations, then have his ashes dump down leaving his eyes floating in mid air.

Wow!! I'd love to see that! :D

Yeah, I had the blasts zipping along nicely when I made the av, but when I loaded it up in IE I discovered the browser has a maximum frame rate for animated gifs, which I'd exceeded - so the only way to speed things up is to cut out frames, which I'm kind of loathed to do. The ashes thing is a nice idea, though.

Lol!:guffaw:It would be interesting to see what they would look like in the TNG/DS9/VOY as well as the Enterprise designs!

What.....no Mach 5? :wtf:

"Mach 5"?!! Isn't that some kind of razor? ;)

Okay, I had to wiki that. Oh, the car from "Speed Racer" - I'd never heard of "Speed Racer" until the movie came out, even then I didn't pay much attention.

I probably wouldn't have picked it anyway, I was trying to choose cars which had more than just one main colour.

Just needs a light cloud of smoke behind it, now.
