fastest speed in novels?

This goes for fan fiction too - what's the fastest speed/warp factor for a federation vessel, and any vessel, in any fanfic, novel or short story?

I doubt anything can surpass The Wounded Sky, where they travel over 2 million light years in effectively zero time. You can't beat infinity.

I agree with William Leisner, but the question might be better suited to the Fan Fiction forum.

If you go to fan fic, the answer may well literally be Ludicrous Speed.

This is why the ST Expanded Universe wiki is doomed to fail, even as Memory Beta thrives.

Hey, I found a link!

Int he coda of Federation there was a future starship that could go sidewarp 55. How fast that is I don't know.

Wowbagger, this forum is for only published fiction and not fan fiction.

Well, in The Lives of Dax, there's one story where one of the hosts (the one from Rejoined, the episode where the old wife of a previous Dax host comes back to create an artificial wormhole) is in a transwarp testing craft and manages to briefly make Warp 10 before it goes all kerblooey.

I remember that, and it was certainly fast enough at least to allow for the Federation to have completely explored and unified the entire Milky Way galaxy and they were now heading out to other galaxies, so it must have also been fast enough for intergalactic travel also.

My post was a (perhaps overly dry) argument for why this topic can only make sense if no fan fic is included. In short, I dig it, O mighty mod.
