Romulans to be bald in Trek XI, and another major spoiler

kirk_incident.jpg

Kirk was outed a long time ago.

Well, if it were a 30-something Shatner in this movie, and he had to disguise himself as a Romulan, and Romulans were bald -- .

As it is, since the Romulans are bald, there's not even a role for Shatner's wig in this movie.

Was too! Was too!! He didn't shave his head but he was definitely bald and your picture proves it.

He was balding; he had hair - as opposed to the completely shaved/hairless appearence of the new Romulans. There's quite a difference between the two.

Face it, he's bald. Anyone with a head like that is refered to as bald, as Picard was. The original post stated "bald" not "shaved hairless." If your head looked like the Romulan Ambassador's, you'd only be kidding yourself by saying, "I'm merely balding." Everyone else would say, "Oh, look at the bald guy; he looks just like that Rommie from TUC." Alright, maybe not EVERYONE... Some people are just more bald than others.

Well, you've completely missed the point.

There's a big difference between a balding individual being cast as a Romulan and the Trek filmmakers deciding that the Romulans as a group will be completely shaven bald.

The Romulans have not previously been portrayed as bald.

I understand they will be wearing bad toupees, and be subjected to merciless taunting by the Federation. At which time, Shatner makes his cameo in defense of bad toupees.

SEE?! I just knew there was a perfectly logical explanation! :vulcan:

It smells musty in here...like a bureaucrat's office...

Lex Luthor solved this one for me decades ago. Bald people are FUCKING EVIL and don't you forget it!

Dear god no, not the most boring villan in ST history recycled again, did they learn nothin from Nemeisis?
Boring? :vulcan: Romulans are inherently much more sophisticated and interesting than the stupid Klingons. I am glad we are getting Romulans as a forefront villain in this movie. As for Nemesis, it was more Remans than Romulans.

Yeah, you can't really blame the Romulans for Nemesis as they were totally treated like extras amongst the vampire-want-to-be's and not the true focus of the film that we were all told they were going to be.

And in any case, an alien is only as interesting as its written to be.

Same here! I'm still steamed we didn't get a proper Romulan movie with Nemesis, so here's to hoping Star Trek XI makes up for this, regardless if our Romulans have a low follicle count or not. ;)
