What would you like to see as an expansion for ST: The Excperience?

I'd like to get your opinion on what would be a good way to expand Star Trek: The Experience. My idea would be to do a full sized replica of the Defiant, with a full interior. Then you could go on a tour of the ship and explore around. It would be cheaper to do something like the Delta Flyer but they don't have the 31st century technology to make things bigger on the inside.

I've never been there but I would love to see bridge relplicas from every show/movie's ship. That way you could sit in the captain's chair and really feel like you were in charge even if just for a moment

Well, personally, I'd like to see something from Enterprise, but I don't think that'll bring in a wide audience.

That being said, and with a new movie coming out, perhaps something TOS centered. Seeing the bridge on that and walking around on it would be cool.

As long as it isn't centered around Abrams' so called Trek movie, I don't care.
Something related to Enterprise would be nice though. However, If the rumors about the Experience closing this year are true, I doubt they would spend money on an expansion for an attraction that is about to close.

Hmmmm...I enjoyed STTE as much as the next fan, but by all indications it is very likely to be shut down. Sadly, I think this time it really may happen. I doubt any of these things will come to pass.

I would love to see an expansion of the Experience, but I don't think its gonna happen. I need to get out there before it closes down.

Well, I wouldn't be doing my duty as unofficial "Save The Experience Guy" if I didn't post the appropriate names of people to contact who actually have the power to keep it open. No official decision has been made yet. Cedar Fair would like to keep it open. The hilton is the one deciding to renew the lease or not. CBS Consumer Products is concerned that it might conflict with the new movie. Allay their concerns but be polite. Nothing will get some corporate bigwig to say "Screw you, Trekkies!" than a message that starts "How can you people be so stupid?!" or some such.

I've also got a couple of threads in this forum about the whole thing if you want more information.

PS If the Tour is currently on hold, I'd ask the Cedar Fair group to contact them about doing a joint exposition at the Hilton, perhaps in conjunction with The Creation Con in Aug.

If we're just talking "pie-in-the-sky" ideas, I liked the Defiant replica. Perhaps a part that could be an actual hotel, which looked like a starship. You could stay there for days, in the starship environment. Of course, for the amount of money they'd charge for such a thing, the cabins would have to be bigger than the Defiant's.

I would also like observation ports from the promenade or Quark's where you could see the stars moving out of the window, and the wormhole opening every now and again.

Perhaps a planet simulation where you could take part in an away mission.

Of course, the likelyhood of any of these ideas is pretty bleak.

Why cant they film a new 'film' for ST THE EXPERIENCE. Have all the twists and turn coincide with the ones that are already driving the movment of the 'shuttle' now, but with all new footage? Couldn't be that hard to do with CGI of the day. Maybe even make it TOS retro in time for the new movie..

We already have Klingons and Borg represented.
