I just happened to watch this two parter the other day. While it's one on my favorite stories with in the Voyager series, I caught something I didn't before.
Janeway talks about the crew living on some small island or unexplored part of Earth inorder not to tamper with the natural social & industrial evolution of the planet. Chakotay later in pt.2 jokingly asks Be'Lanna what career she'll take on 21st century Earth.
My question is: If they still have Voyager in that time, why couldn't crew members like Tuvok or Be'Lanna go back to their own home worlds? Why couldn't the human crew still live on Voyager and beam down to Earth every so often if they really were going to be stuck there?
