Saucer edge almost complete - got some signage to do, the running lights, and then on to the lower saucer:
An FYI: The Nacelles, Deflector Dish, Torpedo Launchers and Impulse Deck with Bridge have been lifted from my existing Excelsior mesh. The rest has been done from scratch.

Why not call the Excelsior Version after the volcano that is currently erupting Krakatua ? Not sure I spelled that correctly.
Have no fear, I had various plans just in case. Will have renders soon. Busy day with the new home office (we have a shell that's watertight and plastered; it just needs 2nd fix electrical and plumbing and then it can be decorated, and I can move my new desk in :-)
Busy, busy, busy with the office move. Cannot wait to get fully set up in it with my much larger desk and shelves for the collectables I have!
In the interim, I am putting the Neilson class on pause. Why? There are so many different directions I can take with it. TMP, Phase II, TOS... (but not Excelsior - why? It was getting too Discovery for me). I need to make up my mind about where I want to go with it. In the meantime, I have oodles of projects underway that need to be completed (refit Connie, Excelsior, Proto-Excelsior, TNG Connie, D7 K'T'Inga...)
Rebuilding the refit Constitution so that it makes sense size-wise (and has a shuttle bay that can work) is something I started a while back, and given I missed my deadline of 8 September to get all this finished, I should really knuckle under, lol.
Anyways, more later.

Robert Wise once said of the refit Enterprise: "Fans won't get a sliderule out to see if it actually all fits". He was referring to the rec-deck, shuttle bay, cargo bay, engineering...
He was wrong.
I did, and I am building a refit Connie that will be able to hold all these things - and work.
I scaled the TOS Connie to 399 meters; the refit has been rescaled to 408 meters.
I started this last year, and it's time to get it done ;-) More soon.
