What makes you ADORE Star Trek

Most everything produced before Kurtzman Trek makes me adore Star Trek. Everything after(except picard season 3) makes me ready to see star trek end and go to television history for future generations to wonder what it was. The one good thing is much less people are watching nutrek than any other Trek before so its kind of dying a quiet death. Which I guess is better than it going out kicking and screaming.

So you don't like any other Kurtzman Trek except Picard Season 3..?

Well. The first season of SNW started out pretty decent. But the show increasing had more Kirk and comedy. I wanted a pure Pike show and the surrealist wink type comedy really isn't my thing. But out of all the Kurtzman Treks its probably the best series. Ill keep watching hoping it will give me what I'm looking for but it seems to be digging in deep on the style it found during season 2 and 3.

Oh. Quick addition. The horror episode was the best this season. It had an interesting premise. It was more creepy than scary but it was pretty good. Maybe a horror themed trek next if paramount decides to restart or continue trek in the future.

Well i did say what makes me adore trek. Im just trying to be honest. The early stuff was just so well written. Ill give you some examples. The first episide of trek I remember seeing was "Where No Man Has Gone Before". I saw it in a rerun as a kid but loved it. When I saw it it was already considered an older show. But what stood out to me was the writing and acting. The episode just hooked me and I watched every episode I could after. I adored that it was first and foremost entertaining. It aldo had real stakes. Kirk had to kill his best friend. Even the final fight scene was heart breaking. Its still in my top 5 and honestly probably my favorite. We aren't getting that kind of writing anymore so it makes me sad. But thats all ill say on the matter. I probably should have read your initial post first and I wouldnt have said anything negative. Im sorry. Im aware some people really love the new stuff and some say its even better. So im glad they got their trek time like I got mine. Its all good in the end.

I get it and I even largely agree with you. However, the point of this thread was to stay entirely positive about Trek. There are plenty of other threads around here to complain about Kurtzman Trek.

Yeah. Thats why I apologized. This should be about pure trek adoration.

What do I adore about Trek??? When it does it well I love when it really feels like they are out there. In the unknown. TOS and TNG largely felt like this for me. Both shows did that really really well. The other shows maybe not as much but the first two shows just had that feeling and I always felt like I was for the ride. Kinda reminds me of Cheers. When I watch that show I feel like I'm a parton of the bar... ....DS9 kinda had more of a Cheers feeling for me...
Trek has been a part of everyone's lives here since most of us were in diapers or gleams in our parents eyes and it is kinda nice that it's still around in one form or another.
