Ohhh, it took me a second to get that. 
I'm very forgiving, I consider the second and third Matrix movies, and the second and third Pirates of the Carribean some of my favorite movies, and one of my other favorite movies The Last Witch Hunter has like a 20 something on Metacritc, and even I thought Spider-Man 3 was a fucking trainwreck. I remember coming out of it trying to figure how the same people who made the first two, which I loved, could have possibly made that disaster.
Now I will admit, I only saw it once when it first came out in theaters, so my feelings might be different if I were to give another shot now, but I pretty clearly remember feeling that way when I saw it.

We don't know that. We've seen from What If? that the multiverse is huge, so there's no reason to believe that he hasn't been jumping universes trying to stop incursions for the last four years. Having a beat up exhausted Strange, who's been missing for four years, suddenly show back up to warn everybody about a coming incursion, would be a great way to open Doomsday, or if he's not back until Secret Wars, then I could see them having a scene where he lands on Battleworld and when he can't jump to any other universes that's how we find out that's all that's left.
I'm as serious as the plague. I believe that Spider-Man 3 is the best of the Raimi Trilogy for the following reasons:
- The intimate and personal nature of the emotional conflicts that are at the heart of the story are superbly ŕrealized. Harry's self-generated obsession with hurting Peter, Peter and Mary Jane's respectively opposing emotional complexes (his egocentric self-condidence and her internalized lack of self-confidence and deep-set feelings of inferiority) getting in the way of their relationship, the introduction of the symbiote and its amplification of Peter's rage and ego, Eddie's one-sided rivalry with Peter, and the situational antagonism of Flint's villainy all combine to create a narrative that ultimately surpasses the first two films despite lacking their 'comic-bookey bombast'
- The exaggerated Melodrama makes the film feel like a comic book or cartoon come to life. Comics and most traditional cartoons are inherently Melodramatic and exaggerated, and plot elements like Harry's amnesia and the symbiote's amplification of Peter's rage and ego manifesting as him acting like an 'emo tool' and jealous possessive partner/ex exemplify those qualities to a T
- The mix of comic humor and Sam Raimi's horror roots is a potent combination and enhances the inclusion (coerced or otherwise) of Venom as a villain, especially as juxtaposed with Harry's obsessive pursuit of misguided revenge and the situational nature of Flint's antagonistic relationship with Spider-Man
- The introduction of the new characters makes sense in terms of what roles they play in the narrative. Reframing Uncle Ben's death to involve Flint provides the catalyst and context for Peter's rage to bubble up, using Gwen as part of the fissure that develops in Peter and Mary Jane's relationship works both in terms of deepening the world-building and in leaning into the Melodrama, as does Eddie's relationship with her mirroring Peter and Mary Jane's, and having Captain Stacy present deepens the world-building and makes sense given the inclusion of Gwen
- Aside from an instance or two of 'recycling', the action is phenomenally handled and feels appropriately comic-bookey
Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 share the cellar in my rankings.
I'll rate Amazing Spiderman 2 over Spider man 3 any day. 3 just looks bizarre because it has such casual relationships with trauma.

People can treat my declarative opinion about Spider-Man 3 as a joke, but ive explained why I feel the way that I do and stand by my position.
Nah, that's legit. I mean, there is at least one person on these boards who unapologetically and unironically loves Picard season 2 and Section 31 as well. One can never account for taste.
I actually agree Spider-man 3 is the best of that trilogy, but not because it's good at all. All three of them have terrible casting and are tonally insufferable. 3 wins because Sandman is the only character in the series who's done well enough that I could actually give a damn about what happens to him.
I enjoyed Picard Season 1 and 2 much more than Season 3, which relied way too heavily on coincidence to create which was basically a fanfic season (IMO). I understand that that is an unpopular opinion and I won't go on a board and try to argue that.
I think that it is good that all the Spider-Man films have people who like them. There's nothing inherently in Spider-Man three that makes it a worse film than the first two. All three of them have their campy moments and flaws. Who likes Andrew Garfield's films as their favorites?
That's fair. I'm just so very tired of relitigating the Raimi films yet again. Don't care for them, never will. I know I'm still in the minority but I don't see any need to defend that position.
I just take offense to anyone proclaiming the Raimi films as the "superior" films over the Holland films. It's purely subjective.

While I do agree that Tobys Spider-Man was the best and the best Spider-Man movie out of ALL of them is the SECOND film with ONE coming in at a close second. The third is god awful. The Black goo just happened to fall right where Peter was in big old New York?? The convenient coincidences in that film are really bad and it was the silliest out of all of them.
The MCU films are ok but they are too busy and way too many wisecracking and comedic moments....and I'm not just talking Spiderman. The rest of the cast are cracking wise the entire films. .

Wow, I had no idea she was old enough to have grandkids.
I actually really enjoyed all three seasons of Picard, but I would not go so far as to say I loved Section 31. I didn't hate Section 31 as much as most people, but even I would only go as far as to say that it was OKish. I just checked on the review thread, and I gave a 6, which I think is one of the lowest ratings I have ever given a movie in a review thread.
