It glows like every other window on the ship.It could be an observation area outside of the of the bridge area right behind the viewscreen wall. But it glows like a running light. So its just strange thst it could be an observational windows.

Nope.
Sure. The models just aren't that well documented.Thank you for responding. I figured it was a Hail Mary, but if anyone would know it would be you.
Didn't Simon Pegg say that the changes in the timeline went backwards as well as forwards?
It's because of time travel events in the future of the branch.Neither do I, because it makes no sense.
That looks like it's trying to say that the Mirror Universe broke off at First Contact with In a Mirror Darkly which definitely was not the case as Archer says the Empire stood for centuries.Didn't Prodigy also pretty firmly established that the Kelvin timeline started with the "Narada Incursion."
There's even a handy diagram that shows that the changes in the timeline were all in one direction.

For all we know, that gap between the Mirror and Kelvin universe could be a thousand years. That looks like it's trying to say that the Mirror Universe broke off at First Contact with In a Mirror Darkly which definitely was not the case as Archer says the Empire stood for centuries.
A common theory about the bright, lit rectangle on the bridge module in "The Cage(TOS)" is that it's a sensor pallette attached to the other side of the bridge viewscreen to feed external spatial information to the viewscreen. Because it's way bigger than both pilot episode viewscreens as seen from the inside of the ship.

I wonder if any sketches or official blueprints will tell us if there was a window right in front of the bridge behind the viewscreen. Something that clearly labels what that lighted rectangle is.
I agree. The whole thing really doesn't hold up to close scrutiny. The only time I think the Mirror Universe has been truly great was that very first episode in the original series. After that, it was more of a gimmick.I've never liked the idea that the mirror universe diverged from ours at any point. First because it's hard to imagine a single divergence point that could change everything to...all of that, and second because it's basically a silly comic book idea where things are broadly the same as the main continuity, but evil. It only works if the setting is static; writers need to be free to drop characters into it at any point in time and find the same hammy overacting and mustache-twirling.
Artistic license. It's cheaper to model a lit up square on a filming miniature to indicate a window than it is to build a scale interior, as we saw several times from 1966-1996 before physical models fell out of favor. It could be an observation area outside of the of the bridge area right behind the viewscreen wall. But it glows like a running light. So its just strange that it could be an observational windows.
Also the stars are darker.I agree. The whole thing really doesn't hold up to close scrutiny. The only time I think the Mirror Universe has been truly great was that very first episode in the original series. After that, it was more of a gimmick.
However, I don't think a divergence point has to be a dramatic event. DSC S3 establish that humans and terrans have some subtle differences in their stem cells at the subatomic level. Perhaps the divergence was as subtle as that tiny little evolution of DNA.
Yes, The Next Generation made it perfectly clear that it, and everything that followed, is set in a different timeline. I mean, going by your own rules, it's absolutely set in stone. Not reading 12 pages of this, but yeah, its has blatantly been set in stone, that the entire timeline has been rewritten after Khan's birth, and after an entire Temporal War, and that nothing we are watching now is set in the same continuity as the original series canon from the '60s. People will argue, and say that it is incorrect, but the text of the show has made this extremely clear.
The fact that this thread has gone on for 12 pages indicates that it's not clear one bit.People will argue, and say that it is incorrect, but the text of the show has made this extremely clear.
Someone needs to tamper with history and alter this thread so it now goes on for only 8 pages. The fact that this thread has gone on for 12 pages indicates that it's not clear one bit.

Yeah the photosensitive thing was dropped as abruptly as it was revealed. Georgiou did have it too which was how Michael deduced Lorca was Terran but then she nor any other Terran had it in future or flashback appearances. Also the stars are darker.
That's why Lorca's eyes were so sensitive. Though oddly it didn't effect Georgiou.
