The Chief and the chello

^Oh, I just think it's funny. Though it can pull you out of the moment at times. And no, I am terrible! I don't remember that episode!
I was just interested because the cello is my instrument. :)

About the worse (or funniest) example of someone pretending to play an instrument. The robot in "Lost In Spave", the old series, could play a pretty mean guitar.

I seem to remember somewhere in DS9 O'Brien said his parents wanted him to be a professional cello player but he joined Starfleet instead. In regards to the cello being smashed, don't forget Worf likes to smash musical instruments.

I'm reminded of the scene in "Animal House" where Bluto smashes a guitar and then says "sorry".

Randomly bumping this because I stumbled upon the episode and I think the actor is playing the cello. Granted, he is only on screen playing like 9 notes, and he's all in the corner and pixelated, but, as a cellist, it looks to me as if he knows what he's doing. (Or at least he is a far cry better at aping musicians than are many other actors.)

Or to put in Trek terms, Worf smashing Geordi's lute in "Q-Pid".
