Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I’ll take a photo of the relevant magazine page tonight.
In short, Star Trek Genesis (no dots or hyphen) was to be set in the 23rd century aboard the USS Genesis, a ship with 6 nacelles arranged in a halo.

Edit: Here we go:
They were just coming up with any old show idea:lol:

I am curious though.

What the heck was this project?
That's one ugly starship design though. It's like a kid playing around with a starship maker for fun.

Crazy that they were commissioning concept art for a show that no one has even heard of. They really were shitting out money in the early days of CBS All Access.
Yeah, the Genesis thing seems to have been farther along than a lot of the other pitches of which we heard at the time, so it's especially odd that news of it never leaked.

When was it pitched? Was this something pre-discovery? Wasn't there an idea for anthology series to be set on a different ship with a different crew? Maybe this was a ship from the future lost in the past? An ugly ship from the future...

I had assumed it was from that period around when DISCO first started when they started talking about additional shows, but now that you mention it, maybe it actually is from when the idea that each season of Discovery was going to take place on a different ship and era. Memory Alpha says the artist, Scott Schneider, worked on the first season of DISCO.

My SNW Enterprise arrived today! :)

Very glad to have acquired this version, which I’ve been after for a while now.

Some early observations:

* The starship is small in scale, even in comparison to the standard scale used by Eaglemoss. Not a dealbreaker, just interesting to see, when comparing to the Master Replicas costing for the EM equivalent standard sized starship.

* The paint palette appears more subtle and lighter than the EM XL scaled version.

* I was surprised to see the neck is based on the SNW’s Season 2 curvier version of the starship, not the straighter, more geometric Discovery era ‘neck’. It’s quite obvious also, in comparison to the schematics and pictures of the Enterprise that is shown in the starship library book. This may have already been noted and pointed out in other’s reviews of this diecast, but somehow I had not realised this until having this in hand.

* The book comes with some great imagery of the starship, with concept sketches as well as full colour views.

Overall - very glad to have this now as part of my collection! :)
