News Starfleet Academy Nielsen Ratings

Do people really find themselves rewatching NuTrek?

The only show I've gone back to for a second watch is Lower Decks.
The only re-watch that I've never been able to finish was Picard S2 -- and even that season has at least two defenders on these boards that I know of. I'm a staunch defender of most of season one, and two of the things that really seemed to bother others -- copy/paste fleet (they ran out of time/money. shit happens) and machine tenacles (a choice to be sure, but what were people expecting? Artoo and Threepio?) aren't deal-breakers to me.

I have rewatched LOWER DECKS, PRODIGY, most of SNW, PICARD seasons 1 and 3, and the most recent 2 episodes of SFA.

I have yet to bother with DISCO or PICARD season 2. I'm not going to waste time rewatching bad shows or seasons.

CBSTrek has zero rewatchability factor for me. I did buy Prodigy on bluray when they were going to take it off P+, just in case it was never streamable again.

I disagree. When Discovery aired about a decade ago, I absolutely hated it. Ten years and a most recent rewatch later, I have a very different opinion. It may be nothing compared to TNG in syndication, but I think it can attract new audiences still.
Discovery first aired in September 2017, it hasn't even been out 9 years yet.

I rewatch Lower Decks all the time, even bought the BluRay's.

Funny thing is I'm still catching new stuff in it.

Absolutely. I can pick and nibble at the odd Lower Decks and SNW episode just as I do with TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT. I have watched seasons 1 and 2 of Picard several times and season 2 onwards of Discovery. In fact I did a 2-5 rewatch as prep for Academy.

Several SNW Season 2, Discovery Season 5 and a couple Picard Season 3 episodes made it into the Top 10.

Nielsen only started tracking Paramount+ in 2023, so there's no numbers before that year.

I usually watch each episode twice when they drop. PIC3 was an exception. Once was more than enough. I revisit SNW the most. Especially "comfort food" episodes like Those Old Scientists.

I will say that I've never actually had a opportunity to rewatch Prodigy season 2. I subscribed to Netflix for one month to watch it and made it through the season once and didn't have time to go through it again.

Do what I do, buy the BluRays.

I'm sure they will "age" just fine. I'm unsure why they wouldn't.
In DISCO's case:

Seasons being spread out into 13 episodes when 5 would have done the trick, the terrible writing of arcs that just meander about for most of the season, said arcs ending badly or mediocre (with season 4 being the only one that was a good ending), the endless shrink sessions, the inability to take these Starfleet officers seriously as professionals, the meltdowns during a ticking clock...

Yeah, I don't think DISCO will age well at all.

Nah. None of that stuff will effect "aging"
