To me, not making a sequel to Shang Chi, one of the best post-Endgame Marvel outings (certainly the best to feature mostly new characters) is one of the bigger missteps Marvel has made.

I didn't love Shang Chi but found it enjoyable somewhat, but business wise I am guessing the internal metrics didn't hit the point where a sequel could be justified.

Some (rumored) leaked art from BND online. If it's real then I've got to say that this film is choc packed with characters. I guess after so many villains in the previous film they feel the need to up the number even more.

Huh, I've never heard of that character. Not too keen on that rumor based on her Wikipedia article.

I hadn't heard of her before the rumors started, but her and Jean Gray are pretty much the two most consistent rumors I've seen.

Now that's a believable rumor and one I want to be true.

Yeah, of all the unconfirmed rumors, that does seem like the most believable, and if it is true, she's perfect casting.

I feel like I read an interview or two with Destin Daniel Cretton where he says he still wants to do a second film but hasn't gotten to it because of other projects (initially Avengers, then Brand New Day and Wonder Man). Since he's one of the main reasons why the film worked so well, I'm willing to wait for his availability for a sequel. I rather wait for the right script and for everyone's availability to come together to produce another excellent film instead of rushing another one out to satisfy the masses.

I felt the same thing with Wakanda Forever and Ryan Coogler as I do here.

Whenever I see discussions of future MCU movies, Shang-Chi 2 is still pretty consistently talked about, so I'm pretty sure it will happen eventually.

But what if they ask him to do another Spiderman? And then he is split between that and Wonder Man season 2 again.

Honestly, if they were going for someone to play Jean Grey then Sophia Lillis would be the better choice. She's already looking like she could be Elizabeth Olsen's cousin or something.
