Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Hey Phil

Do they actually do that in real life like in the movie, like with a full on celebration and all?

Not only is it a real thing but, there are multiple groundhogs all over North America, as far as I know. I know of at least two in Canada, one called Wiarton Willy, and the other one I know of is out in Quebec. The funny thing about them is they will often contradict themselves. For example, the famous Punxatawny Phill saw his shadow, but Wiarton Willy did not.

You can only enter in one door and go out the other, you can't go out the way you came in

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but that seems like standard procedure everywhere? Some stores even love herding people through lines of product aisles leading to the checkout.

Thinking of starting to journal with a fountain pen. And I'll probably journal what I'm reading. Maybe I'll do a travel journal.

I stumbled upon a fountain pen video, and it got my interested in doing it. One of the folks in book club journals all of the books she reads. I've been saying I want to do it for over a year now, but I really haven't. Putting it down on a physical journal instead of a computer would be less distracting.

Looking at TWSBI Eco fountain pens as those seem to be what is what recommended for beginners.

No.
It's fairly common here in the US that you can enter and exit from the same doors you came in.
My local Safeway and Fred Meyer have two or three entrance/exits you can go through.
It's only recently that you enter and exit through separate doors.

Oh, that's intereresting. I've made frequent trips to Vermont over decades and it's always been very similar to how it's been in Canada. Usually what they'll do is isolate the doors by putting a barrier in between, with the doors clearly labeled as enter/exit. It helps sometimes that the doors are further apart. I think the only exception is with Walmart where they use a series of sliding doors that people can come in and out of, but the actual entrance into the shopping part of the store is via security gates.

I think IKEA stores do this...

Kinda, but the example I'm thinking of is a bit more isolated to the checkout. We have a chain of stores in Canada called Canadian Tire, and despite what the store name might tell you, they sell way more than just tires. It's kind of like a hardware store, but they also have their own brand of snacks. Anyway, over the last several years, they've really ramped up on the temping impulse buys by herding shoppers over several snaking rows of a wide variety of products on their way to the checkout. It's hard to describe.

Me at 14.30 my administration problem is finally fixed! I'm so happy, this is a weight of my shoulders.

Me at 18.30 why am I even bothering? It's almost the end of week 2 of my internship and I still need help/support while another intern is day 3 and needs no help. I'm hesitating between quiting because there is no way I will ever hold a job like this, and pushing through till the end because I've come so far. But then I'm like what am I going to do with that paper? It'll be almost as unless as my school degree. I'll see what I'll do, but first I will enjoy my school vacation starting this Friday

Watching Hannibal at lunch today I learned about catguts strings. No, it's not actually cat guts, but it's still pretty creepy.

Why is politics always silly little head games?

When it comes to leadership spills regardless of the party why does everyone act coy and play little games like "I support X all the way" when they know that's not what is going to happen, and why does the public put up with these shitty games? Why can't they just put on their adult clothes and say what they are planning to do / want?
