I'll be honest with y'all (I'm not from the south but what the hell!)..
in recent years I have found myself becoming more disinterested in professional sports, particularly football...10 - 15 years ago I was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, and hung on everything Eagles, every bit of news, watched every game religiously, planned my Sundays around the game, you get the idea....
but then a paradigm shift happened and I think I know what it was: the hyper-commercialism of sports...Now I know that this has always been present, but I think what did it for me was when they started squeezing in ads in between plays, for me this was a threshold that was too much. Then I realized that just about every second of every game: they are trying to sell you something...and it just got too much....now I am not that vested in the games and more often than not will just wait to watch the highlights on youtube, which pop up about 2 hrs after game completion....
just wondering if anyone has experienced this same phenomenon?
