Law & Order General Discussion Thread

Corey Cott has been promoted to series regular on SVU, which means he'll depart in the season finale, never to be heard from again.
I don't get his storyline outside to give the new chief an opportunity to twirl her evil moustache. They had the "newbie" last year with Silva and before that Muncy and then before that with Tamin. Tamin was the best of them and they cut her without even giving the actress a reason (if memory serves).

Additionally for the past twenty years or so, SVU was always in a budget crunch. Now, the staff includes two Captains & two Sergeants. Especially with this chief storyline, how does the fictional NYPD justify this?

Found an interesting podcast that did an interview with him recently.

It's sad to see that he had no input into his characters exit. They wouldn't let him have a word in.

He seems like a decent enough person and it sucks that he was treated so badly (by SVU).
After he got fired from the mothership back in the day because the suits wanted more women on the show, you think Dick Wolf would've realized that his SVU departure should have been different.

Exactly. But nooooo. He just views actors as chess pieces (from what he said before) and he uses them and gets rid of them (from what S. Epatha said about him).
