That's what I thought.Am I correct in assuming that's actually the Red Alert Mode?

I think so, yes. But it’s still pretty red under regular conditions. Elements like the floor are definitely red and not only lit by red light.Am I correct in assuming that's actually the Red Alert Mode?
I've never understood the logic with the decks having to be so shiny.I think so, yes. But it’s still pretty red under regular conditions. Elements like the floor are definitely red and not only lit by red light.

It looks like a 60s diner.I don’t dislike the bridge design, but is it me or does it look like they have been very inspired by a Space Age / Jet Age design language? It feels very chrome-y, with lots of organically sweeping lines, grills and candy-color red. I mean, I love the mid-century design influences that shape the sets of Strange New Worlds, but here it strangely feels out of place to make it all look like some retro-futuristic Cadillac.

It does a bit, doesn’t it? Well, I guess if a bridge can look like a carpeted 80s beige hotel lobby with wooden paneling it can also look like a 60s diner. It looks like a 60s diner.
Toxic fandom was in force all the way back then as well, and this was described as being, "The Love Boat in space." Having a bald Captain just fueled those kinds of comments. "This will just be The Love Boat in space. Star Trek is ruined."It does a bit, doesn’t it? All true. I think there’s a lot of truth in what Tawny Newsome said on the Blue Carpet (paraphrasing): “The fans will dissect everything they hate about it, it is a Star Trek rite of passage.”Toxic fandom was in force all the way back then as well, and this was described as being, "The Love Boat in space." Followed a few years later by...
"You can't do Star Trek on a space station! Star Trek is ruined."
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
The only thing that changes is the title of the show.

And that is an absolute tragedy. All true. I think there’s a lot of truth in what Tawny Newsome said on the Blue Carpet (paraphrasing): “The fans will dissect everything they hate about it, it is a Star Trek rite of passage.”![]()
Well, from a production standpoint there's at least good reason to use carpet. It does a bit, doesn’t it? Well, I guess if a bridge can look like a carpeted 80s beige hotel lobby with wooden paneling it can also look like a 60s diner.
Will be interesting to learn if something like that was on the moodboard when this was designed.
If they were going for the Las Vegas Casino look, they nailed it.I don’t dislike the bridge design, but is it me or does it look like they have been very inspired by a Space Age / Jet Age design language? Well it was either that or making it look like an apple store. or a hotel lobbyIf they were going for the Las Vegas Casino look, they nailed it.
They only one because the mainstream audience didn't show up.i'm worried the haters are going to win. Like they did with Acolyte. The cancellation might not have been because of the noisy detractors , but they most certainly were cheering about it.
I hope we get that third season announcement for SFA soon
