So being all digital a keycard means Nintendo can delete it any time they like regardless if you have it on a keycard as they are all digital..... Anti consumer much?

So, not owning any Nintendo console, I struggle to understand the issue. You're essentially buying a digital game and that they're selling at a high markup. As someone who already deals with high markups to begin with, this just feels like people are finally experiencing the sting that many of us are already experiencing in different markets when it comes to pricing of digital games. High markups have made me wait for prices to go down and wait for sales. When games are routinely for sale at the $90-100 price point, or over $200 for collectors editions, such as Ubisoft's pricing model for many of their games and various editions (that's what they're priced out as in my market) , the issue seems less like a Nintendo issue and more of an industry issue in regards to pricing trends. But Nintendo fans are just waking up to this?

1st/2nd Party Nintendo Titles RARELY gives discounts.

They keep them at MSRP nearly Year round and have trained their customer base to accept this as the "Normal Price".

There may be 1x or 2x a year that a discount will happen, otherwise, it's FULL MSRP the entire time.

That sounds on par for 2nd and 3rd party titles for the other consoles though. Ubisoft does this all the time, just to use them as an example. It's not uniquely a Nintendo issue. Regardless, the point stands that the high markups make them difficult to swallow in certain markets.

The backlash is that the keycards unlike a regular cartridge are digital and could be remotely wiped if Nintendo for example delisted a title.

You then have nothing and paid for it.. at least with regular cartridges games are a bit safer being in flash memory or read only memory. That's the argument some people are claiming

And they would be correct.
It's the publisher's & game dev's that are deciding to go that route as well.

The other part is that the Game Cart's internal memory size is tiny & R/W speeds still kind of suck.

It's a very anti consumer route, but then we have had other companies like Apple who kind of lead the push for that kind of stuff and other hardware manufacturers followed suit. Also regards the internal memory again that's on Nintendo cheaping out on memory chips with lower read write speeds

If it's in regards to the memory capacity, I can agree. 64 GB being the Max Cartridge size is tiny in this day & age.

But the R/W speeds & the Memory technology that Macronix uses in the Nintendo Game Card is kind of fixed.

That is harder to improve on due to the limited form factor along with maintaining backwards compatibility with Switch 1.

So they kind of shot themselves in the foot due to using the same hardware tech for the Game Cards.

The only way to have fast enough memory is either internal memory or use the Micro SD Express cards.

They would be the last holdouts then given both XBox and Playstation both have the ability for expanded storage via SSDs that you can easily pop in. They could easily use it as an opportunity to sell Nintendo approved accessories. And given the push to digital, access to more storage becomes more and more important.

Things like this are the reason there seems to be a renaissance for hard media...be it MP3 players, Blu-Rays, video game discs, etc...when you own those, YOU own them....for life

This has been true for all the other digital stores for a while; Steam, Playstation, X-Box...

It's such a sad statement about the world.

How did we get to this point and why, whst was the reason?
Because guys like that asshole were put in charge of global economic decisions and various world leader sock puppets agreed to do whatever he said should be done in the name of “progress”. Then they go and play the long game with trillions in taxpayer dollars collected from all over the world to fund their little agenda.

Hint: the Federal Reserve is neither federal, nor a reserve.
