According to the making of documentary on the DVDs and Blu-Ray, some men showed up at the BBC and asked about where the VFX team got the submarine. They were told it was a model kit from Woolworths. So the story goes they made some changes to the model and one of the things they inadvertently did was make the propeller look like the ones on the real subs which was a secret at the time.

how that relates to the Moment I don’t know. That’s my one missing link, but that was a Moff thing not RTD (as was Suranne Jones). Also we know the TARDIS is organically connected to the Doctor and the Sonic Screwdriver, a piece of lore Russell himself has spoken about

"Andrew" the person who leaked all of S2's details correctly has supposedly returned with info on the Xmas Special. I say supposedly, as there have been a few imitators pretending to be him too. But to be safe spoilers on.
The episode is basically a Marvel What If... type story. "What if we made the last ever episode." But time will be rewound at the end back to the regeneration and depending on the situation by Christmas next year we either get the real next Doctor or something more open ended.
Carole Ann Ford will have a big role in the episode, just not the one she was originally planned to have.
While the broad stokes of the script are in place the details are in flux (no pun intended) as they're basically trying to pull in all their favours in terms of who they can get to appear in it. They're hoping for everyone bar Eccleston and Capaldi but until they get firm commitments it's more a case of "Generic Doctor" and "Generic Companion" appear at this point in the story.
Shooting is planned for February/March and it should be closer to 90 minutes than 60.

The idea of doing a one-off "Ultimate Doctor Who" doesn't bother me...
...but I feel this is unnecessary, for the same reason I had issues with "The Abominable Bride" -- if you're going to do a non-continuity one-off, commit. You don't need to anchor it to a framing device in your current continuity.

It’s only non-continuity until someone changes their mind.
At this rate, with all the woes at the BBC, all we might get is Dimensions In Time 2: Pat Butcher is a Fixed Point. Which for some reason, will also involve various Death in Paradise actors and characters, and Richard Hammond as Buttons.
As a huge Death in Paradise fan, I would love to see it crossover with Doctor Who. Sait Marie is such a big vacation spot that it would be fairly to just have the Doctor and whoever their companion is just show up at the beginning of the episode, and then leave at the end. The big question would be whether the Death in Paradise characters would be aware of all the sci-fi crap or if they'd be kept away from all of that.
No he's not, based off of the "featured" section of the list of releases for Big Finish's Torchwood series on the Tardis Wiki, Jack hasn't been seen since #34, and the most recent release is #96.
I’ve never got around to watching DiP while always intending to. I liked the comic relief return skit.
Problem is, not only do I not find the time, but sitting through various detective dramas was a ‘living with dad’ thing, so am reticent to feel myself advance in age, and not sure which series to start with. Am not sure the beginning would hold my attention, as thats Miller isn’t it?
Yeah, but he's only in the first two seasons, and it's fairly standalone, so if you have issues with him you could always jump to the Season 3 premiere, where Miller's DI Richard Poole is killed off, and his replacement, Kris Miller's Humphrey Goodman is introduced. The show goes through a lot of cast changes over the years, it's on it's 14th Season and 5th DI, and the supporting cast has gone through even more changes. I think almost every season has seen at least one person leave and someone new come in.

Capaldi should do it, to close RTD's ledger on "Doctors I'd not written" and write him off.

Reports are that Paul McGann filmed something on November 12th in Camber Sands, wearing his NOTD costume and the TARDIS was present
